The NWO Theme is apparently a mish mash of Jimmy Hendrix song samples True. "Stars That Play with Laughing Sam's Dice" "Hey Joe" "Stone Free" "Highway Chile" All of them make up the nWo theme song. "Purple Haze" too!

I just realized that Rob Conway's legendary theme was ripped off from "You've Got A Friend In Me". I never noticed that before and the thought of somebody having that as a theme cracks me up. Also Carmella's old theme was clearly inspired by "Fancy" by Iggy Azalea. Any other examples? Carmella’s current theme is inspired by Megan Thee Stallion’s “Girls In The Hood”. Another example is The New Day’s theme being inspired by Kirk Franklin’s Stomp. youtu.be/3CiqqyoX7gA

Smells Like Teen Spirit became Eighteen Strings by Tinman, which then became the Blue Meanie's fed theme song.
To cover up ECW's unauthorised use of Enter Sandman, the WWE Network uses a blatant copy of Butterfly With Broken Wings by the Smashing Pumpkins, subtly called Cave Rat.
Similarly, to cover up Walk on the Network, a sneaky copy of Million Miles Away by the Offspring is used, subtly called Progeny.

I have said it here a hundred times, but Roman's/The Bloodline's theme is a ripoff of the Sucession theme. And the beginning of it is definitely inspired by O Fortuna, IMO. Yep... it definitely read like let's use O Fortuna... and then found out that it's not public domain so they quickly made their own.

Sting's WCW theme was just Seek and Destroy by Metallica This isn't really a "ripoff"... his later thing was literally Seek & Destroy. Tangentially related—I remember pre-Network, when WWE would upload classic matches to their website, they dubbed over one of Sting’s Seek and Destroy entrances with the freaking Mike Knox theme. I want to say that Knox was on TV using the theme at the time. Also somewhat related to the topic in general, I always thought it was kind of interesting how Johnston would sometimes take stock themes and change them up a bit. Matt Striker’s heel theme in 2005 was some generic song called “Dickin Around” (lol), and the theme they made for him after sounded similar (at least to me). The best example of this might be Tyler Reks, who had the instrumental of D-Young’s 1-2-3 theme but then got the “Tyrannosaurus” theme, clearly inspired by the stock theme but changed enough to be it’s own thing.

Stone Cold's theme was created after he asked for "Bulls on Parade" by Rage Against The Machine and Jim Johnson said "bet" "Best I can do is a shattering razor Ramon"

It was called "Dalton Wants it All" or something. Dean Malenkos WWF theme was a takeoff of the Goldfinger and License to Kill James Bond themes. They turned that theme into "Miracle" for Cesaro.

On the topic of TNA, Samuel Shaw's theme was really obviously meant to be reminiscent of "Night Call" by Kavinsky, which fit since he was sort of an amalgamation of Dexter and the guy from Drive.
