My standard answer for this discussion is George Michael. I don’t care if he’s not rock and roll, there’s loads of people in there who aren’t. I could have sworn he was in. But nope. Very surprised.

I watched a video on the rise and fall of the mainstream emo movement, and given how they affected fans and crossed over, My Chemical Romance has a damn good argument IMO.

Meatloaf/Steinman is a good call and surprised they're both not in there already.
Iron maiden of course, but I think Maiden probably don't give a f*** about it.

Ronnie James Dio Iron Maiden Judas Priest, properly, not in the "side" category. Motörhead Uriah Heep
More Hard Rock and Metal in general.

First change it to the Music Hall of Fame so we stop complaining, LOL.
Second, put in the Springfields cause Dusty deserves two entries, solo/band(Faction) ones like Flair, Hogan, etc.
But really, did Ronnie Spector ever get put in there? Cause I recall the stories of Phil banning her out of spite.
Is Marianne Faithfull there?
(Actually, if we're changing to MHOF, that opens the door to the other British pop singers of the 60s...Petula Clark, Lulu, Sandie Shaw...)

No Yes Yes No No Yes To answer another poster’s question, Ronnie Spector is in as a member of the Ronettes but not as a solo artist. Marianne Faithfull is not inducted. I know he lost a lot of favor with people, but Meat Loaf. Along with Jim Steinman. This is my answer. Jim's at least in the Songwriters Hall Of Fame, but I think that he more than deserves the R&RHOF, both for its status and the fact that he was more than just a songwriter, he was involved in every level of it, from worldbuilding to songwriting to producing to playing the piano like a goddamn madman to his own solo album (which despite him not having the voice of Meat, was way better than Meat's solo efforts and is a real underappreciated gem).

Dr. Dre and Diana Ross need solo inductions Dre if not as an artist, then he absolutely needs to go in as a producer and entrepreneur.

Like others, not sure who is in, and I’m pretty sure they just recently got in or got snubbed again, but Deep Purple.

I refer to it as the class where they tried to fix some mistakes, because it has a bunch of bands/artists who should have been in there years earlier.

The rock hall tried to court Noel Gallagher on the Oasis induction, flew him to Cleveland to give him a private tour of the hall, and they mentioned to Noel 'you know, Oasis is coming up to being nominated for induction' and Noel told them he will not re-unite for the event and to not ask him. I do believe Oasis 100% should be in and hopefully one day they do!

Agreed! Controversial opinion: "Bad for Good" (Jim's version) is superior to "Bat Out of Hell" in every way outside of voice quality. Better lyrics. Better overall structure. Better arrangement. Just a killer track. And every person I know under 25 who even remotely likes rock is obsessed with My Chemical Romance. There's no doubt they'll get in one day.
