I just saw the other day that the old ROH TV title was pretty much an exact copy of the old 6-man WCW title. Like the plate shapes and dimension are identical. How many more instances of this are there? Only rules for this thread are small indies don't count. The indie I used to go to literally reused old WCW replicas and just painted over the WCW logo and include pics if possible

ECW ripped off the IC title so badly.

Did ROH do this on purpose?

The Hardcore Title looks strikingly similar to the old WWF "Winged Eagle" WWF World Heavyweight Championship...The Hardcore title IS NOT the belt Perfect smashed with a hammer on SNME, but that rumour still pops up from time to time.

Austin said he has the one he won at Mania 14, which is the one they used for most of the mid 90's, and some other collector claims to have the smashed Mr Perfect one.

Last I ever heard, Mel Phillips grabbed up the pieces of the smashed belt. I believe he or maybe someone else was selling them on eBay. This has to be at least 10 years ago, maybe more. Keep in mind, WWE now at least, has several versions of the belts. There's the TV belt, the touring belt and a lot of guys and girls want one for their personal selves. Austin probably has the one HBK wore to the ring that night, but that's not the one that was hanging around since Mania 4.

Speaking of ECW. The TV title was very much like the WWE Winged Eagle before the resdesigned them.

The World Heavyweight Championship was WWE take on the Big Gold Belt that was used for the NWA and WCW World Championship. A more recent one is the IWGP Women Championship is based on the 2nd IWGP Heavyweight Championship belt that was used in the 90s.

Foregoing the visual aids for now, but....
- Hogan 86 and the GWF North American title - NWA 1987 world tag team titles and the GWF tag team titles. - NWA National tag team titles and 1985 WWF tag titles. NWA US title '85 too. Maybe the World Class tag titles? - the USWA and NWA US tags look vaguely alike. - Andre 87 = AWA TV title

Yep they got a lot of mileage out of that design. The American Title in WCCW was the same.

The WCW Television title was supposed to be an updated Cruiserweight Title, replacing the Light heavyweight. For a while, the TV title still had the word "Cruiserweight" or had a "Television" plate over it.

The ROH -UWF was intentional I believe.
Honestly I don't think that they had original designs until the final Sinclair belts. The worst was the Tyler Black era belts where you had the Winged Eagle ripoff, WWF Tag ripoff for the ROH tag belts, and the TV title was a territory era rip off.
Oh, dishonored mention of the TNA X Division Title that was just the Attitude Era IC belt with a giant green X over it.

A couple of years ago, the belt was bought by belt maker and collector Belt Fan Dan, and he has a video featuring the belt on his channel. Then again this was years ago so I don't know if he still has it.
