The weird part is that in real life he's supposedly entertaining and hilarious. I've always understood it where it's not that he "couldn't" play the hilarious character, it's that he didn't want to. Sort of like Chavo Guerrero deliberately not wanting to do comedy stuff despite being perhaps the gifted with the most comedic talent of his generation. (neverending Hornswoggle shit nonewithstanding) I think the issue with Malenko and Lance Storm is their sense of humour while funny, is rather dry and that doesn't really translate well to the bombastic world of wrestling, especially in the <catchphrase-catchphrase-gesture-your town sucks> era.

Emma has already kinda faded away on the SmackDown roster. She's amazing in the ring, but just void of any personality. Other instances? Emma has tremendous personality. He NXT and Impact work shows that. Her not being featured is by no means a reflection of her. I think a lot of the issue is she's been cast as a bland babyface which is a role that's going to be hard for anyone to show personality. Also she seems to have kind of a dry understated personality which while not a bad thing is a personality that isn't to work in certain roles. Seems like her personality shines through a lot more when she's a heel.

I think Malenko had enough charisma to be an upper midcarder... which he was in WCW. He was insanely over from 96 to 99... at least as a member of the Horsemen (dunno about the Revolution), but by the time he got to WWE I think he was pretty much ready to retire.
I dunno if I'd say they're amazing but I think The Kingdom of Mike Bennett and Matt Taven are the epitome of wrestlers who look like they should be big deals but the crowd just never cared about them.
I think Scorpio Sky has shown in AEW that he needs a lot of help to get a crowd invested.

But, after she turned heel(and got Kaleb with a K, & eventually Madison Rayne, to join her act), she became much more interesting & entertaining.

Dante Martin definitely has that for me. Kid's one of the most incredible high flyers, but has always felt like a charisma void.

For the longest time and still to this day I feel like he lacks the on screen personality to really make him shine. He connects with the fans through great physical charisma in that way someone like Benoit or Malenko had but when left to his own devices he is sort of there. For me, he has always been his best when he had a tag partner to play off of

NJPW really did him bad when he became the poster boy of a failed heavyweight title push. Giving him chance after chance when he wasn't ready really damaged him for a long time. However, the fan is an animal in the ring and he stands up there for me as one of the great NEVER champions with Ishii and Shibata. His in ring has carried him because you know to expect a no-nonsense hard hitting match with him
He lowkey has a very impressive resume that has gone under the radar

Really liked her Impact stuff with Kaleb With a K. I stopped watching Impact right when Madison joined the group so I don't know how any of that played out. I would say that Impact heel run was the best she was ever used in her career. Great presentation and character wise it suited her really. Honestly I thought they maybe could've done more with her and possibly given her a singles title run. However the Tag Titles was as far as they were willing to go with her. I guess with her health issues maybe they didn't think she was reliable enough. Funny enough her character was basically a hybrid of all her WWE gimmicks. Vain Influencer akin to Emmalina who is also kind of ditzy like bubbles face Emma and had the same look as heel Evil Emma with the aviators and gloves. I agree that Kaleb was great. WWE should bring him in to manager her again. I get her wanting to an angle with her real life partner but her as a face isn't working at all. Doesn't help that they've really given her nothing to work with.

She was a big fish in a small pond in Impact, it's vice versa with her in WWE. She was even a focal point of the women's division during her entire ROH run. WWE's women's division is way too stacked for her to ever get a prominent role there.

Brad Armstrong.
He got the wrestling while his brother got the mouth.
There's a reason Brad was Arachniman, Candyman and Buzzkill (among others I'm sure).

WWE's women's division is way too stacked for her to ever get a prominent role there. She's been back two months and still hasn't won a match on television. That pretty much tells you right there what her standing is. Looks like she at least is going to be starting a feud as they are starting a program with her and Madcap against Karrion Kross and Scarlett however even so I'm guessing she's just going to be used as fodder to put over Scarlett who still hasn't wrestled yet. To be fair she hasn't been exactly great in the ring either as she has slowed down a decent bit and working as a face which is a role that requires more explosiveness (more snap on your comeback etc.) has brought that problem to the forefront more. At least as a heel she could cover for that more by being more methodical and relying more on holds and stuff like that. I'm sure she's making much better money and she gets to be with her boyfriend all the time so I'm sure she's happy however I wish they could've at least made a little effort to build her up at least somewhat instead of just making her an enhancement talent basically right away and in her return sending her out cold without any reintroduction and having her job to Ronda.

She's getting that 2nd run that so many others have gotten in the past where they come back for a while just because they're a name people remember from a few years prior, but they're only there to put over the younger generation. i.e. Snuka or The Dudley's 2nd runs.

I wholeheartedly agree with the Malenko sentiments and he was my first thought.
Someone similar, Steve Blackman. He looked and acted like he would hit you five times before you knew what hit you the first time but had the personality of an eggplant.

I met Lance Storm, during the pandemic, he's a serious guy. He's nice, but not friendly. I've had a couple interactions with him on Twitter, he's nice, but not friendly.

So are trying to say that he's not just serious for moments but in actuality is serious like all the time? Never would've thought.
