Idk I mean. Call it a worked shoot - it is - but it's something that works completely within kayfabe too. There's nothing really breaking the fourth wall here at all except JJ talking about "writing", which you could take to mean booking. Not very hard to view this (so far) as entirely within universe Yeah, looking at it from first glance, it feels like they're making the best of an awkward situation because that's literally what Jarrett does . And considering the podcast was kayfabe'd, I think this stuff is all planned out somewhat. Also, not likely addressed much on the show tonight because why would you?

An awesome diss track meant to skewer heels and was working perfectly has somehow turned into "But this time it's REAL, brother"... I hate that shit in wrestling. If there was any heat, they'd fight backstage and it'd never make it to the ring.
It's just dumb Yes, we all know this shit is choreographed but "taking liberties" sounds really dumb on paper. Could have just left it at the cancel me bit Yeah, "taking liberties" implies that the match is fake (which we all know anyway) and the drama is real, which is not the way to sell the match. Unless Bowens was possessed by Russo during that Tweet, in which case I will give him a pass.

Yeah, he’s working so much he just finished a 9-5 shift and is driving through traffic back home to do it again tomorrow. Well it's one of two things 1. He and Karen and Kurt are legit mad, and are idiot carnies, and Tony is an idiot for letting this run without clearing it with everybody and is also an idiot carny 2. It's all work in which case I hate this stupid post-kayfabe line blurring podcast bullshit (I shouldn't have to keep up with news sites to understand a feud) in which case they are all idiot carnies 3. It's some combination of the two in which case they are all idiot carnies

It's some combination of the two in which case they are all idiot carnies I mean, in their defense, they're likely not going to mention most of this on the show itself outside of a vague "There were heated comments on social media" comments so I don't think it's a requirement for the TV show.

Fair point, although AEW are not above that kind of insider reference we haven't got to Sid's scissors territory yet

Fair point, although AEW are not above that kind of insider reference we haven't got to Sid's scissors territory yet I do get the cynicism, though, and if we suddenly get a clip of “My World with Jeff Jarrett and Conrad Thompson” before the tag title match, I’ll very much eat my words.

I love the way Jarrett sells these feuds . Which is why I don't mind him being involved. He knows how to get heel heat without being the cool heal. Hell, I wouldn't mind him and Lethal winning (with shenanigans of course) and having a really short run. I don't think they will because The Acclaimed are super over, but still.
