Watching a lot of his 1998-99 stuff. He hand the long blonde hair. The climbing over the ropes. Leather chaps. Was he suppose to pretty much be a knock off of Big Sexy at this time?

If only he were around 3 years prior, he'd probably be better than Kane, that's for sure.
I used to believe part of the gibberish lyrics in his theme (as in, all of them besides "This is a test...") sounded like "Kevin Nash, here I go again..."

He reminded me a lot of Nash. More athlete but did a lot of the big Nash moves. I wouldn't say knockoff because in ring he was a better wrestler with a deeper moveset. I did see the comparison. His big boot was one of the best ever.

if he was supposed to be bootleg Nash, he failed miserably because he tried way more than Nash ever did. lol
Test actually had a pretty good diving elbow

No, I think it was just a test.

I think the idea of his background was actually influenced by the Diesel character.

Yes. Like, literally. It’s said Russo talked up the similarities and it even gave way to the idea of him joining DX, which was laughed at by Hunter & company.
Test really was his own cat though. Kind of mad underrated cause of how his career went but I really enjoyed the dude sporadically in his career.

Test actually defeated Kevin Nash in July 2003 on Raw. The following month, Nash is at SummerSlam while Test is left off the PPV.
Weird.

During a match on Raw back in the day Lillian Garcia announced him as Kevin Test so she seemed to think so.

I think he just used the moves that happened to fit his size and level of agility, and it came out looking similar to Nash.

Russo tried to sell him to HBK/HHH as Diesel mark 2 and to be the enforcer for dx

Can definitely see similarities. I always liked Test. Thought he got a raw deal after the whole wedding angle. Feel he could have been used a lot better

There were similarities, which makes it kind of surprising he didn't move to the leather pants until later.
That said, I think they also had major differences. Kevin was the better brawler, though Test obviously pushed himself more sometimes, perhaps unwisely. Test lacked charisma, but he did alright for himself at the end of the day. Just kind of a shame T&A never got a quick tag title run, they were a fun team.

He was very green and actually grew to be a decent wrestler for his size. During Lesnar's first run, he gave him one of his best matches at KOTR

I loved Test. Thought he could’ve gotten over huge if they would have had him standup more for himself in the wedding angle, instead of just being tossed to the wayside. Shit, him beating Shane got a monster pop.
Hated to see him come back obviously roided out of his mind in ECW. I couldn’t take him seriously at that point.

I was shocked to learn how young Test was at the time, I always thought he was way older when he had that thicker goatee.
I didn't like the pants though. It looked weird without a shirt or anything, and I remember seeing him in one of the Smackdown games, the pants looked like they were 5 sizes too big.
People talked about how the wedding angle ruined him, but I'd say not having a direction after the Invasion angle was far worse since he was given that immunity clause, and then right after that he was the unneeded third wheel of the UnAmericans.
I'm one of the few people who preferred his early 2000's run when he cut his hair and was wearing trunks. He looked far more menacing, but it was clear he wasn't going to get much of a push regardless.
