I do love how Candice & Mia cut a promo last week saying how they would not let Damage Ctrl get away with any of their BS on anyone else anymore. And this week they were backstage watching Becky get the crap beaten out of her 3-on-1 and didn't even bother to attempt to offer any help.

WHAT WAS THE VERY YIDDISH THING HE SAID BEFORE THAT KILLED ME Pretty sure it was something in samoan, not Yiddish. You're actually right, he said something like right afterwards but I thought he was talking about something else. I wanna hear him say more Samoan things.

Belair is wearing shorts in this episode. The actual writeup from Fightful. How long did that Bloodline segment go compared to what they planned? TBF between the option of a cage match lasting a minute or two or working an angle to set up a full match I'm glad they went with the angle option, however, I'd still rather have a steel cage match than the Flair's promo. I was wondering the same thing. 3 hrs and they couldn't fit the cage match they promoted. Yet we got a half dozen poker scenes.

Candice was too busy vibing with Johnny and Dexter in the background of the poker scenes.

You have a series of largely throwaway comedy segments, but you can only do those this week because you brought in like 20 one-off cameos for them, versus a hyped matchup/possible feud blowoff, but the talents involved are there literally every week so the option of postponing it was more plausible. In hindsight, they probably should’ve closed with the Tribal Court and the tag title match and opened with the US title match/Lesnar return.

I will say I do kinda get why they went with the cage match, it's the easiest thing to reschedule and didn't involve anyone who isn't there every week anyway, though even then I'd have instead just dropped the six man tag and turned it into a segment.

Yeah, they just straight up screwed up the timing on the Tribal Court, I just don't know how it went as long as it did, frankly. I also think that first hour being commercial free really f***ed with the formatting, too. There's a certain amount of dragging deserved, but the way that some folks are acting about it feels a little dramatic/performative to me.

Funny thing is , the cage match being cut IMO ended up working out better for Dmg Cntrl than if the match had actually taken place because instead of Bayley getting her ass whooped for 10min before Dmg Cntrl finally shows up , instead finally get booked competently and look effective and dangerous.

The cut cage match being part of a week of main roster womens’ wrestling that saw only two matches and 11 minutes across both matches makes it even more egregious to the point that the main takeaway isn’t Damage CTRL looked dangerous, it’s that we got robbed of a big match.

You are choosing to look at the bigger scope which hey cool. I am looking at the moment at just the cage match and look at what positives I can and that positive is that Dmg Cntrl got real strong booking which is something they have been woefully been needing for the longest time and they finally are getting it.

I know there’s a lot of worry about Vince and all that, and I get it, but the rest of the two shows here weren’t especially Vince-pilled in any way, so I’m willing to chalk this down to A) In SmackDown’s case, them trying to rush through this tag contender tournament (which involved a lot of teams who have been getting less TV time than most of the women, if we’re being honest) and B) In RAW’s case, just a genuine f***up in timing and laying out the show, as opposed to any significant policy change to “WE HATE WOMEN AGAIN”.

Bobby Lashley randomly shoe horning Brock Lesnar into his promo had alarm bells ringing with me.
And sure enough Brock shows up to kick Bobby’s arse.

I said this in the thread dedicated to the cage match, but I would imagine having to format those 3 hour shows where one hour is commercial free is probably a pain in the ass, because you need to make up for it in hours two/three. It's why I think there were so many commercials in those last 30 mins of the show. Could very well have been just a genuine moment where their hands were tied and they just had to do it. Could have happened to any match in that spot, I'd imagine. I really don't think they were like "welp, it's just the women, cut it," especially given they had to spend the time before the show to put up the cage.

That Wyatt/Taker moment reminded me of the scene from The Rundown with Arnold Schwarzenegger as a cameo passing Rock in the hallway and telling him to have fun, like he was passing the torch to him as the next big action star. Taker was like "I'm done, you can be the big spooky/supernatural guy now."
