A week removed from his brothers death, Mark Briscoe came out with nothing but positivity and energy, and he and Jay put on a clinic in there, for us, for the wrestling world, for the Briscoe family
One of the best matches AEW's ever put imo, just for the context of it all, for the fact both men were able to go out there, and do everything so perfectly
I wish nothing but success for Mark, and honestly, my respect for Lethal went way up, dude was a mess, and he still did it, what a strong man, both men are so strong.
God bless them both. God bless pro wrestling.

Props to Riccaboni saying "call your family and tell them you love them" on commentary. A little thing that matters a lot more than most think.

Forgive me for rambling, feel free to scroll on by if you don't want an emotional word dump.
Beyond all the scorching hot takes that get dunked on, the memes, the stupid bullshit that we bicker over, we are united by pro wrestling.
That unifying power of pro wrestling was on display tonight. It was a display that makes you realize all the f***ing ratings discourse and tribalism and all that, none of it matters. None of it. Not a single goddamn iota of it.
15 perfect minutes - a wonderful match and a wonderful tribute to a legend taken too soon.
Be good to each other, guys. For real. Life is too goddamn unpredictable to do otherwise.

Mark going all out like that makes him one of my all time favorites, if he wasn't already.
He's a stronger man than me. He went out there and performed like it was a Final Battle. If my sibling died, I'd be in a ditch somewhree.

I gave my family a hug right when I found out the news, they aren't deep in the world of wrestling, but they got the weight of the tragedy, a 38 year old man in the prime of his life dying like that is just hard, his girls getting hurt is even worse

I'm not very good at expressing myself in emotional topics like this so since I'm not very good at words in these type of subjects I'll let this gif do the talking for me

That and Mark’s final goodbye to his brother got me in the feelings. "Jay, I love you baby... I love you man..." How they were both able to get through that match, I have no idea where they got that strength from. Maybe just the fact that they wanted to do right by Jay. And did they ever.

That match left me an emotional wreck. So cathartic but so bittersweet.

I have four brothers. I can't really imagine holding it together enough to do something like this so close to losing one of them.
I do not care for Lethal, but kudos to him, as I know this was obviously very difficult for him, too, and he more than pulled his weight.

Something about the moment they were chopping each other “It’s like that, huh?” “It’s like that!” Got to me. And Mark talking to the camera. And the roster lined up on stage. Mark’s bravery and fortitude is inspiring. Beautiful moment.

I hope Mark has a very fruitful career now in both ROH and AEW, he deserves it, he deserved it for years but my god he REALLY deserves it now.

It was never supposed to happen like this. It was always supposed to be the Bucks or FTR or whoever in the ring talking some yang and then the Briscoes storm the ring and all hell breaks loose. I am grateful that we did get what he got though. These things are always bittersweet when someone goes too early doubly so after you see how much their friends/coworkers thought of them and you hear how they lived for their family. Like when Brodie passed it’s been great to hear about how much of a family man and how respected and helpful that we was to young guys coming into ROH that Jay was for the last week or so. Shame that it had to happen like this but through death life has a strange way of reminding us what is really important in this world, it’s up to us to take that to heart.
Kudos to AEW for all that they’ve done for the Briscoe family and for making this tribute happen and to Mark for even wanting to go out there and wrestle so soon after and even Jay Lethal because dude was barely holding it together from the moment he walked out there.

First time I’ve ever seen cathartic chopping. And somehow it fit.

It was excellent. Right pace, no crazy risks. They did what they needed to do. Just a well wrestled match.
