If all this isn’t leading to Roman losing to Cody, the f*** are we even doing here, man? Yeah, and even if WWE still wants to do Roman vs Rock, they still can because the story between the two is compelling enough that it doesn't need to involve the belt to make it memorable. But the story here with Cody is one that needs him to win the belt in order to give him the moment he's been waiting years for. If you don't, you're essentially wasting years upon years of storytelling here, and in the process, severely hurting Cody's momentum upon what should be his most defining moment.
If Roman wins, f***, that would go down as one of the biggest letdowns ever due to the overall story that's being told here.

If he doesn't drop it there, they may as well go for the Sammartino record.
I think this'll be the end of the run.

And, like, I can (just about) get why it didn't happen for Drew but outside of a match against Lashley, there's nobody left to challenge Roman who you could believe could do it. If the guy basically handed to you by the competition who is super over in a way he likely wanted to be over there and has a family legacy to boot can't do it...who could? The Rock?

Love Roman, but I hope not. Part of me can understand why they’d want Roman to start entering the Sammartino conversation, but he can do that regardless with just one belt. If Cody doesn’t walk out with at least one, they do run the risk of USA Lugering him if the plan is for Cody to chase Roman for a bit.

I'm hoping not, as Cole said "Finish the story".
Cody has got to win this one.

At least drop the WWE Title to Cody. He can have the Universal Title for another 30 years for all I care. Just PLEASE STOP holding both belts.
It's a dead horse with me, but man has it run its course and is completely unnecessary.

Anything could change, but it’s looking like it’s for the whole shebang.

If they pivot and split the titles and make him do double duty, I'd say there is a chance he keeps one - but if they are determined to keep the titles undisputed, then I'd say no.

Just based on Cody's promo and Roman's run in general, all the gold will be on the line. Cody's walking away with all the gold

I'm still convinced they're going to drag out Roman's reign (no pun intended) until he faces The Rock. 1000 days will be too tempting for them.

I hope not. And I’m hoping it’s the end of having Heyman on screen as well.

i can see roman losing one of the titles- whichever one he got second (RAW?) so that way he keeps the super long reign with the first title. i can see cody going for the original wwe title linage one because that would be the one dusty never won.

I took that as the probable meaning, but him saying Roman won't be the Undisputed Universal champion might also be interpreted as splitting the titles if WWE decides on that, or they could always have Heyman say the Rumble shot only entitles him to a shot at one of them or whatever. They have some wiggle room.

I wouldn't be surprised either way.
This run should have ended about 4 different times now and it didn't.
So having a natural conclusion all setup doesn't matter.

I can never say 100% with Roman. But this is the first time since, I guess Drew in the UK, where it feels like Roman could actually finally lose.

If Roman wins at this Wrestlemania I genuinely think it would be one of the worst booking decisions in wrestling history. They have the chance to book an all-timer of a PPV here.
Wrestlemania 37 was his first appearance in front of a crowd as The Tribal Chief so he was just getting started and last year with Brock it wouldn't have made sense to give the huge rub of ending this reign to a part-time Brock. Everything is set up perfectly this year though.

Cody is winning.
That's the sweetheart deal he got to leave AEW in the first place. A title reign and a Mania main event.

I think he's going to take some well deserved time off. He's already working fewer appearances, I think he's got a break coming. Above all else, I think this is the reason why he's going to drop the belts at WrestleMania. His appearances are already becoming more sporadic and intermittent. If he loses the championships, he can take a much-deserved vacation, recharge his batteries, and come back at Money in the Bank in London or SummerSlam or hell, wait until Survivor Series or Royal Rumble. But, as has been said several times before, the story is playing out before our eyes that it HAS to end at WrestleMania. It didn't make sense for him to lose at WrestleMania 37 or 38, because 37 was his first WrestleMania as a main event heel, and 38 was the first WrestleMania during the nascent days of The Bloodline. The Usos hadn't even unified the Tag Team Championships yet, Sami Zayn was palling around with the cast of "Jackass," and Solo Sikoa was still in NXT. But now, The Bloodline has become the established main event of Raw and SmackDown for almost a full year. But they are is in tatters. They're not in a position of strength as the dynamic force they were even one week ago. Everything's falling apart around the king, and now someone hungrier is coming for his crown. It would be like Triple H retaining at WrestleMania 21 even after the complete dissolution of Evolution.
