As an absoulte surprise to no one Ozzy Osbourne has released a statemnt saying he has finished touring planetradio.co.uk/planet-rock/news/rock-news/ozzy-osbourne-cancels-uk-tour/Hard to believe that this UK/Ireland tour was supposed to be back in Februrary 2019 but kept getting postponement afer postponement. I think everyone knew that the gigs were never going to happen years ago. Hopefully Priest are now freed up to tour the UK and Ireland on their own show. Still, here's to the Prince of Darkness. Thanks for the shows. Will always remember my first time catching him at the Ozzfest in Milton Keynes 25 years ago this summer. Rock on!!!!

With all due respect to Ozzy for a legendary career, I feel like his shows as of the last few years had moved into "you go to say that you saw Ozzy live, not for the actual music" territory for a while now.
That being said, massive credit where it's due for him being as lucid as he is nowadays, I can 100% believe it when he talks about being embarrassed by The Osbournes because of how messed up he was back then. Hopefully he's able to properly enjoy a retirement without the pressure of having to prove anything to anybody, because he's more than earned the peace and quiet and however many museums and historical sites he wants to visit.

Yeah definitely. Regarding the last two Black Sabbath shows I was at (2013 and Download 2016), there was very much you went to see Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler do their stuff rather than the man in the middle singing.

Oh hell I saw him with Black Sabbath back in 2001 and he was already in rough shape back then. This is definitely the right decision.

I bought tickets to one of the London shows way back in September 2018. I'm sad but it was obvious after the first postponement that it wasn't going to happen.
Glad he can now rest after an amazing career.

Seriously, Mama's been waiting for him to come home for like 30 years now! (And that's NOT a reference to an Ozzy song from 3 decades ago. )

Had tickets for the Glasgow show so bit disappointed but knew this would happen after the first postponement. Saw Ozzy live with Sabbath 10 years ago so I have been lucky to see Ozzy live and he was great that night.
He deserves his retirement though and will be seeing if I can see Judas Priest at a later date.

He looked like he was in agony doing like two songs at that football game last year. I hope he enjoys his third (and probably final) retirement from touring. Patient Number 9 is a banger.

I actually liked his Raw guest host appearance back in 2009.

So there I am, in Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon, at about 3 o'clock in the morning, looking for one thousand brown M&Ms to fill a brandy glass, or Ozzy wouldn't go on stage that night. So, Jeff Beck pops his head 'round the door, and mentions there's a little sweets shop on the edge of town. So - we go. And - it's closed. So there's me, and Keith Moon, and David Crosby, breaking into that little sweets shop, eh. Well, instead of a guard dog, they've got this bloody great big Bengal tiger. I managed to take out the tiger with a can of mace, but the shopowner and his son... that's a different story altogether. I had to beat them to death with their own shoes. Nasty business, really. But, sure enough, I got the M&Ms, and Ozzy went on stage and did a great show.

Saw him back in 2018 and he had trouble getting around and the stage banter wasn’t much, but he still sounded great when it was time to sing.
Considering the way he lived his life, it’s remarkable he’s lived as long as he has.

I saw him in 1995 with Sepultura and Type O Negative at The Pyramid in Memphis. Always one of my favorites.

I was supposed to see him here at the Hollywood Bowl in 2018 I believe, but it got postponed and then cancelled. Would have been really cool to see him live before he hung it up.

Jericho has a really funny story about this in one of his books. The Prince of Darkness is the voice of reason in the room that consists of Ozzy, Jericho and Vince McMahon. McMahon - Alright Ozzy, finish off the segment by calling him a "wanker". Ozzy - f*** off, I ain't saying that on National TV. Do you know what it means?

I've never been able to see him live. The only time he was doing a show in an area I lived in was in like 1995 or 1996 when they did the very first Ozzfest. I was still a couple years off from being able to go to concerts and stuff even though I had been a metalhead since I was like 8.
I've seen his live performances on tv though, and for a long time now he looks to be in rough shape. He looks like he can barely move around on stage and stuff.

Saw him twice. First time was that 90s NO MORE TOURS tour. Wasn't bad.IIRC Alice In Chains opened ffor Ozzy. Then a few years later saw him on the Retirement Sucks tour. Was not as good as the first time.
Been lucky only been one band I wanted to see live that was still touring by the time I was going ot shows and I didn't see.

I saw Sabbath at Ozzfest Japan in 2013 and like most in this thread, I'm not surprised by this at all. I'm just surprised it didn't happen years ago.
