Iron maiden should be in...
But to be fair, maiden or at least Bruce probably don't give a f***.

Happy to see Rage & Kate Bush make it in but bummed Iron Maiden & Joy Division/New Order didn’t. Sheryl Crow was the one I absolutely didn’t think should have gone in so of course she made it.
George Michael’s induction will be interesting and kind of sad on the night i’d imagine.

RATM got in the Hall. The Hall is now officially useless. Literally, the first thing you see when you walk into the hall these days is a Tom Morello outfit. This isn't surprising at the least. That said the Hall has always been useless.m

Really happy about Rage getting in. Well deserved. I'm really curious to see how/if they'll disrupt the Hall induction ceremony+concert. Happy about Missy and Sheryl Crow, too.
And Kate Bush is really getting everything she can out of Stranger Things bringing her back into pop culture awareness. Good for her.

I don't know how much more Iron Maiden need to do to get in. I'm 100 percent the band could not care less, but when you look at their longevity, record sales, ticket sales, and influence, it's ridiculous they're not in.

It's all because the people who make these decisions are petty f***s who let personal taste (and probably some well placed bribes) get in the way of who actually deserves the honor. Rush waited almost 15 years after being eligible without even being nominated before finally getting their rightful induction. I mean, think about that. They are one of the most universally respected bands IN THE WORLD, and had been for over 30 years at that point, but the turds behind the HOF didn't like them, so they never got a look.

Not a Maiden fan at all, but it's bullshit they aren't in. How many other artists are playing massive stadium gigs nearly 50 years in?
Happy for George Michael.

Also: Cyndi Lauper isn't in? That's bullshit Hopefully, as I said before, this activates WWE's one-upsmanship and gets her in the 2024 class there...provided my theories have no weight to them, of course. (This is how Pete Rose got in in 2004, no?)

And Kate Bush is really getting everything she can out of Stranger Things bringing her back into pop culture awareness. Good for her. I have this feeling that this is how Dusty Springfield got in, as much as I want it to be for her talent alone of course. Pulp Fiction had come out 4-5 years before she knew she'd be inducted, and Son of a Preacher Man got a resurgence because it was on the soundtrack.

When I heard that Phil Spector was one of said petty f***s and was keeping Ronnie out, yeahhhhh, totally agree. It's like no mainstream HOF is on the up and up. Breaking news!

Bernie Taupin getting into the main Rock and Roll HOF as well as the more specific Songwriters HOF is more proof that Jim Steinman should be in.

I'm glad Missy & George Michael got in, as they were my top two picks.

Congratulations to all who are inducted, but over the past few years it's been more about who's NOT getting in than celebrating those that did.
It's one thing for the public to cry foul over someone not getting in, but for the acts to complain, eh. Consequence from a Tribe Called Quest is upset and it's been suggested they try to raise awareness so they can get in, which sounds kind of whiny to me.
Yes, they are probably worthy, but it's a bad look to me to complain about not winning.

The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame probably means less than the WWE Hall of Fame. At least there you can sneak in if you were actually important, didn't work for WWE, and Vince has no reason to fear your legacy. The RnR HoF is exclusively devoted to what a gaggle of insane american boomers think is qualifies as good with zero regard to actual influence. Case in point being Kate Bush only getting in because their grandkids watch Stranger Things and the likes of Iron Maiden and f***ing Joy Division/New Order not getting in at all. Everyone has seen the leaked Oscars ballots that demonstrate how braindead the Academy membership is; RnR HoF voters must at least be twice as bad. If you look at who they induct and who they don't, and who is inducted before or after whomever else, it can literally only be achieved by going through the record collection of your most insane uncle, the asshole who comments on random videos of a (technically skilled but entirely talentless) white kid shredding on YT with shit like "they don't make 'em like this anymore..."
I suppose in the coming years we're going to see a bunch of poorly aged 90s acts inducted too as those guys get replaced by the "rock isn't dead, just check out Dave Grohl cover Zeppelin while intubated in the ICU!" crowd
