“Don’t you watch The Wrestling?!”
First boy was surprisingly based.
Yeah, everybody was doing it. Kids would make a game out of doing it to substitute teachers while their back was turned. My personal favorite anecdote was my late best friend began doing it while jumping off the high dive in the swimming pool. I started copying him. Then everyone started copying you, so you had a countless amount of students doing different variations of “Suck it” while jumping in the pool. That poor, poor lifeguard.

Definitely. Although I don't recall anyone getting into trouble to the extent of that clip. Once the teachers warned us I think we were all smart enough to keep it to the playground. DX suck its and Austin middle fingers were definitely all over the place though.
It's why I laugh when people try to say DX weren't that big of a deal and it's all WWE revisionist history. I lived through it. The post-Wrestlemania 14 HHH/Chyna/X-Pac/Outlaws version of DX was one of the most over acts in wrestling history. That's no exaggeration.
Even 25 years later they're still super popular. There was just that story all over the news about Joel Embiid getting fined for doing the DX crotch chop and yelling suck it during a celebration.

I used the middle finger by accident in kindergarten, which was well before "Stunning" Steve Austin became Stone Cold, ironically enough.
Never did the crotch chops in school, but did see one younger kid walking with another group of students do X-Pac's jumping version at the eighth grade class from a distance while we were sitting at picnic tables.

We got in trouble a few times in primary and secondary school for wrestling, not so much for asking people to mouth our junk.

I used to get in trouble a lot because I would flip people off, and do the crotch chop. Doing the crotch chop almost got me banned from watching wrestling at one point.

I'll be frank, I have many regrets in my life. The biggest was missing when my secondary school had a talent show where a bunch of kids decided to have a "royal rumble" of sorts using a mat and fake ropes. That'll honestly haunt me until my last breath.

Nobody did the DX thing, but everybody screamed for head without understanding. Which was no problem because neither did the teachers understand it.

Yeah all the boys were doing the DX crotch chop at school, as well as the Wolfpac/Kliq hand sign. But the REALLY hardcore wrestling fans like me and my friends were running up behind either other and slapping on the Crossface Chickenwing while screaming like a madman in 1994-95.

Bah! In high school, I was imitating Right To Censor and telling all the skanky girls to dress more appropriate and trying to get drugs and alcohol banned from my school, and preaching to all my classmates “it’s for you’re own good”. See, wrestling could be a good influence to

I recall doing a lot of crotch chops during dodgeball and stuff like that. The main things I got in trouble for back then were t-shirts. My Orgy "Candyass" shirt got me in trouble, and the green Make 7 Up Yours shirt, which I tried to explain to no avail, did as well. I never tried wearing the DX S*CK IT shirt to school.

i was in middle school at the time and pretty much all the guys did the DX "suck it", but we only directed it towards each other, not the girls or adults

No but I was taught about there being a time and place for things. Hell I don't recall it being an issue at all. We talked about it, planned backyard feds and special gimmick matches, didn't "Don't try this at home" all the time, and knew which shirts we could get away with wearing but I don't remember anyone getting in trouble for it.
Then again I had a well behaved class for the most part. I think the worse we had was the kid that murdered a guy for trying to SA his girlfriend.

LOL at Mom and Dad thinking it was a good idea to sit down for this TV interview.
Funny that the kids in that segment are now in their 30s.

Hate to say it, but as a day-camp counselor, I had to notify a few parents that their kids were chopping during DX's late-2000's run. Even though my brother and I did it all the time in 98/99 (though my brother was the only one reckless enough to chop in front of our mom and get punished for it).

I was homeschooled but I did get caught doing it once by my dad walking in. He just gave me a weird look and moved on lol
