Hope they can get Josh to induct him. I literally say "that's not wise, Mr. ____" so often and whenever I remember *why* I do that I'm like oh god dammit Oh boy. I remember teenage me loving those segments and finding them hilarious. Then going back a few years later and wincing the hell out of them and wondering just how edgelord I had to be lol. To say those segments didn't age well is like saying Punk has only been a *small* locker room problem for AEW. Doesn't quite cover it. Tim White is a good inductee here. Good to see it.

He seemed like such a good guy. I remember the segment on the Andre doc where he breaks down at the thought of Andre dying alone as being just plain heartbreaking

It is a pretty interesting class compared to past years. It includes:
- Active performer who plans to keep wrestling for a while (Rey) - Guy who never wrestled for them (Muta) - Posthumous induction of a guy who never worked for them (Kaufman) - Posthumous induction of a ref which they rarely do (White) - Stacy who is more on brand with past years although she has been very off the WWE grid for a while
Not saying it's a bad thing. Very happy for them. It does give me "Vince didn't have a hand in this" vibes though.

Is this the first time they’ve acknowledged Stacy Keibler’s existence since she left? She inducted Torrie Wilson a few years ago.

Otherwise it reeks of claiming some kind of ownership of something they had nothing to do with At least with Muta he wrestled in WCW. Kaufman though, has anyone had less to do with WWE outside of the legacy wing? As I recall Kaufman wanted to work with Vince Sr. but was rejected!

The only place that would work with Kaufman is Memphis. It was also likely the only place it could have worked period... The connection there is Lawler and Jimmy Hart and I think the WWE owns some of the footage of Memphis.

This might be the most unexciting HOF class yet. It’s a small class but it’s pretty star-studded. The greatest luchador in company (and American TV) history. An international icon in Muta. Probably the most worthy of celebrities ever in Kaufman. Keibler is fine as an inductee, though obviously she wasn’t much of an in-ring competitor at all. Could probably just use one tag team induction to round it out but I presume this is it. It's still the weakest class when you measure it against every other class, with maybe the exception of 1993, which shouldn't count.

Kaufman also did some stuff with Fred Blassie, most notably the film “My Breakfast With Blassie”. Which makes it sort of weird that it took so long to induct Kaufman; Blassie spoke glowingly of his times with Andy for his autobiography and Blassie is in Vince’s absolute top tier of favorites. You’d think that connection would have made a difference over the years.

I also think Tim should get a regular induction. It's a shame it was post-death. A few select refs should have been included here and there over he last 19 years.
WWE pulled a baseball or football hall move here, like they did when inducted Ron Santo and Ken Stabler the year after their death. Still, I don't look down on WWE's hall, I think it is a legit way of honoring men and women just as much as the other halls.

Foley has revealed he pressed hard for the induction while Vader was alive, but Vince said no.

You’d think that connection would have made a difference over the years. I'll admit that I'm not the biggest fan of Kaufman, (mostly because of a very inaccurate movie that paints him far too glowingly), but one of his last appearances on Letterman with Blassie was in my opinion his absolute best work. People at the time were pretty sick of Kaufman's schtick, but Blassie forcing Kaufman to sing and both his and Letterman's reaction to it is priceless.

Does anyone know what Cyndi Laupers relationship with WWE is?
Are they on bad terms?
Has she been offered a place in the past but turned it down?
This is an induction that should have happened ages ago and is crazy it still hasn't.

So it’s just those five for this year? Probably. Batista's induction speech is looking like the new Duke Nukem Forever at this point.
