It's another sprint weekend (one more to go after this) and the shootout is just starting ahead of the actual sprint later today.

Perez crashed out at Turn 1 on Lap 1, and that’s the last thing he needs with all the rumours that he’s under big pressure to keep his seat for 2024.
Race actually stopped right now after a big crash for Magnussen.

Take 2 in 5 minutes.
Thanks to the delay we've got a few cars that are taking part that would have been out.

Well the Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend has gotten off to a poor start. FP1 only lasted nine minutes because someone didn’t bother to check that the drain covers were secured properly. Carlos sainz hit it and really damaged his car.

Practice is set to begin again at 2:30 am Las Vegas time for a 90 minute run, with no fans in attendance.
The whole point of this was “F1 on the Strip at night with all the lights on”… By the time they get going, it might be sunrise and the lights’ll be off.

I saw that but how were the powers that be not prepared for this ? All the other stuff like an opening ceremony should’ve been secondary to having a safe track to race on. Also during FP2 it was mentioned that the track wasn’t passed good to go until very close to the FP1 which just baffles me honestly. Also, this isn’t the only street circuit in F1 and so why didnt Las Vegas use the knowledge to ensure drains weren’t an issue ? it’s been a farce so far and it’s not even qualifying yet.
