I honestly was surprised she didn't take like a year or two off after her childhood best friend was brutally murderered on screen.

As many people have said already - she's been checked out for a while now.
No big loss IMO

Damn it. 😕 I was looking forward to what they'd do possibly with Bray Wyatt. Uncle Howdy? Not so much.

whether the report ends up being true or not, Alexa has been fairly vocal on social media over the last year about being frustrated in WWE.

So it seems Alexa has denied it but regardless, it’s been clear she isn’t confident in the ring for a while. At clash at the castle it was mentioned by several posters about how uncertain she seemed in the ring, and the match at the rumble was similar where she seemed very hesitant to take a bump.
I think it would do her good to take a break and try and figure out whether she wants to be an in ring talent, because having a wrestler active who is lacking confidence is not a good thing when you consider you need trust in a wrestling match.

Regardless of whether or not she's taking time, I hope she's OK. She's been through a lot of shit and the internet is filled with awful, awful people that say awful, awful stuff.

Yeah this is where I'm at. Her stuff with Bray is the most interesting part of the story right now for me, but if she's not in it mentally then go take a break and figure things out. Plus, as has been said, she could slot into a non-wresting role VERY easily if she wanted. She's very good at acting, and I think she'd be great at anything they did with her that wasn't actually wrestling.

Homegirl is actually undersung as far as “acting” and coming off natural, and I’ve wondered the same thing - about her transitioning into a speaking role. Be it a character or a broadcaster of sorts. I wonder what the dilemma is there, be it money, lack of interest etc.. It’s all very confusing. She’d probably do great by chillaxing off social media too.

She has that Samoa Joe quality where she can take pretty much anything she's given, and make it sound natural. Like, if you can make Vince-speak sound normal you have some major acting/delivery chops. I've even said before if Alexa wanted to pursue a career in acting she would probably do very well for herself.

See, that's the thing. I think there could be many factors into this. Let's not act like the concussions she suffered at the hands of Ronda didn't leave a mark. She was firing all cylinders until that moment and the wheels fell off. But there's also the mental aspect of the situation where in the longest time, whatever she does gets crapped on by the Intermet. If she's involved in a good match, it's her opponent(s) getting the credit. If she's involved in a bad match, it's entirely her fault. No matter what she does, she just can't win. It's a catch-22. Yes, it's gonna get to everyone mentally, including the best of us. If you go into it every week knowing that people is gonna sh*t on your work, no matter how hard you try, it's gonna be difficult to give it all your best. Personally, and I might be biased because I've always loved her work, she's getting way too much unfair toxicity and hate and at the end of her contract in early 2024, I wouldn't be the least surprised if she hangs it up for that very reason. As for her venting about her creative situation, I don't think that's it this time. She never hesitates to vent about it when it's the case and she didn't this time. So I think that hiatus is creative-related but I'm not the least surprised that it got people speculating and add more toxicity on the matter for her.

If I was HHH I would see if she wants to take a stint in NXT..which would give her a much lighter schedule and creatively help her find and develop ideas of her own she can feel creatively fulfiled with and maybe if it takes off she can bring it to the main roster.
But other than that though I feel this is Alexa assesing her in ring future and whether she wants to keep doing this and for how much longer because her contract is coming up soon and choices will have to be made.

She's mentioned wanting to get into acting. I think she'd do very well in horror movies (I'd probably watch them, anyway)
