Im worried that there are several moments that could hurt the crowd like the Battle Royal did on Dynamite like: 1. Gunns retaining and no FTR return 2. Saraya winning the womens title 3. Jericho winning thanks to Paul Wight return If the Gunns retain, I'd expect FTR back very soon if not at the PPV itself to immediately give them the notion that the Gunns are f***ed I don't see Saraya winning, I think the most probable outcome here is Jamie retains Paul's beefing with some dudes on Elevation, but hasn't been close to Jericho or Starks. No JAS at ringside does open a door to someone else possibly interfering, but they're playing with fire with this feud and don't want to keep having the trope of JAS feuds going too long, since they already made a nod to it last week.

Kind of wild that the 3 teams in there with the Acclaimed are Lethal/Jarrett, the Gunns and Danhausen/OC. The tag division used to be one of the company’s biggest selling points.

Looks like one of the weakest cards they've had for a ppv. I think I'll be skipping this one. Guns, lethal and saraya in title matches plus an iron man (which I despise as a gimmick match) are enough for me to pass on this one

That's my frustration. The Gunns shit the bed in their title win, Orangehausen which is a fine random one off team (maybe Danhausen eats the pin), the Acclaimed who are still great, and Lethal/JJ that aren't bad but don't need another opportunity. I like the Trios belts but it certainly feels like they've taken some shine from the tag belts.

And it still is given they could fill two battle royales in back to back weeks with teams to battle it out for opportunities The hyperbole since the Gunns won is a bit strange to me, it's not like people didn't pop huge with Danhausen/OC won, Acclaimed are one of the most over acts, and everyone wants to see Ass Boys and Jarrett lose, there's merit here and there's plenty of selling points, I don't see this as them punting with the tag division at all.

The tag title match will be a fun palate cleanser with lots of comedy shenanigans, I expect.
I'm always happy to see an odd match like that on a PPV card. It's just a shame it's the match for the tag titles.
AEW has put on several MOTY candidates in it's tag title bouts. We're only a couple of days removed from the three year anniversary of the Hangman/Kenny vs. Bucks match. To see it now be the shenanigans match is kinda rough.

I hope the pre-show match is Hook vs Stokely Hathaway!

It’s not hyperbole, it’s just that a lot of fans aren’t interested in watching the Gunns wrestle, especially on PPV for the tag titles. I’m not saying they don’t still have great tag teams, but they have 4 PPVs to sell us on each year and they’re using those 3 teams to sell it here when there are so many better tag teams in the company.

Only one women's match? Someone told me yesterday that Toni vs. Riho was gonna be on the show. I thought that sounded random, lol.

So no TBS title match? What's up with Jade anyway? Is she even in a feud?

For instance, Friday on Rampage they're doing Top Flight vs. Wheeler and Claudio vs. Aussie Open vs. Silver and Reynolds. Like, that could objectively be a better match than the match on the PPV. That's why people get frustrated.

If the Gunns retain on Sunday(which is almost a given) then FTR will return, like I can see the Gunns facing the winner of that Rampage fatal 4 way tag match post Revolution and after that FTR returns.

That doesn’t negate the fact they’re wasting time now in the build to one of their 4 PPVs.

The match will be hiding the Gunns more than anything and I'm sure it won't be a disaster but it isn't anything I'm looking forward to. And if FTR doesn't return, then you have a wet sloppy fart.

I think if I were to put my Tony Khan hat on - the approach to the four way is like this:
- The Gunns are there because they're the champions. You may not like it but we're past that point. They're the heel champs right now. - Acclaimed are there because they're stars and should be on the show. - Orange Cassidy is a star and should be on the show and Danhausen is very over and should eventually get a spot like this. - Jeff/Jay are there as solid workers who can help direct everyone and are heels who can show ass and get a big pop for it.
Is it filled with the teams with the best workrate? Nope. But it's a match with two face teams that are over and two heel teams that will do a lot to give them big spots that get over. It will be a fun party that match that I'm 90% sure everyone will go "wow that over delivered and got over big" when it's over.

Again putting them before the Ironman match is probably the best spot for the tag title match.
