Drew, and it's not even close.
Sami has organically got to this great point, but we all know he isn't winning. Even the people who want him to win know it isnt happening.
Drew at Clash felt like it was going to be the moment, and while you can argue not ending it there has allowed for a great build to what we have now, at the time, it was a sucker punch and killed dead my interest in actually watching the main shows again, at least until Cody came back.

Drew is worse because it essentially killed his momentum. Sami can/will lose and still be in a great spot, and if anything, he might eventually be pushed to a world title spot later in the year given how over he has become. Drew lost, immediately sang to the crowd, and now is back in the mid card.

I mean Drew still steamrolled Brock at Mania and essentially ended his heel run. Yes I know it was during the Pandemic but he always has that

I guess my problem is, I never expected Drew to win at CatC. At all.
With Sami, I don't think he will, but there's a small chance, and that's sure better than zero.
But my much bigger money for nearly a year now has been Roman not dropping either title until WrestleMania this year. It's kind of become way too big to pay off on a 'lower' PPV.

Neither. I think passing over literally anything that we've been getting now in favour of a Drew McIntyre title reign would have been awful and I say that as someone who was dying for it at the time. If it was only for the WWE Championship and not both, it would have been the time to pull the trigger. But taking everything of Roman halfway through and not landing the Sami/Jay story first would have been insane looking at it in hindsight Hogan dropped the title to Luger for a week before eventually doing the big Sting match too and it didn't take away from Sting vs. Hogan or the NWO feud as a whole. There's nothing wrong with a major Heel facing some minor comeuppance before the big dance too. Hell have Drew beat Roman and Roman demand a rematch for being the longest reigning champion in x years and getting one and have that be where Solo joins instead works even better for the story of Roman surrounding himself with people to hide his insecurities and paranoia that he's not really as good as he thinks he is.

Yes I know it was during the Pandemic but he always has that he carried the company on his back during the entire pandemic and he was basically rewarded by them going out of their way to bury him pretty consistently afterwards.

It's Drew. And to boot, they made the man look like a fool, singing with Tyson Fury afterward (doesn't matter if that wasn't originally supposed to be on camera, because they DID put it on camera). While also showing a guy in the crowd with a better dad than Chris Benoit shirt on I forgot about that guy. We saw him in a bar near the venue after the show, he was taking pictures with fans as if he was a celebrity. Then we spoke to him, and he was as much of a twat as you'd expect.

It depends how they deal with Sami. If Zayn puts up a heartfelt fight, comes up short, but then gets to team with his best friend at Wrestlemania to help finslly vanquish the Bloodline, then it keeps momentum and has a satisfying conclusion. However, if they do a tired rehash of the Montréal Screwjob & have him as an afterthought at 'Mania, the company needs suing for business malpractice.

Like, I enjoy Drew but giving up all the Zayn stuff and the Cody stuff? No way. (Side tangent but for all the talk when Cody won the rumble about how there’s “no story” to him beating Roman, people really wanted Drew to win when the story there was literally “the match is happening near where he was born”) Ironically the match wasn't even in the same country where he was born.

Drew. I don't blame them with Sami as it was too close to Mania and they have other plans there as they want Cody to be the guy. Also I'm sorry I just don't see Sami as a top guy. Talented guy for sure but at the same time I don't think he should be the guy who should end this reign.
With Drew on the other hand they could've given his moment and then dropped it back it quick and it wouldn't have interfered with there Mania plans at all as it still would've been like three or four months away from Cody winning the Rumble.

As much as Sami not winning hurt, at least he didn't sing a song to try and convince the crowd that the company made the wrong call.
Drew it is.

Neither, both were obviously the right choice.
Sami's match last night wouldn't have been the same had Roman already lost in near identical circumstances in Cardiff. Cody's WrestleMania match with Roman wouldn't have been the same if Reigns had just lost to Sami (and certainly not if he was facing a Reigns who had lost to both Drew AND Sami).
If they wanted to book Drew as a main eventer post-Cardiff they could have done. The fact they haven't is another reason why he had no business beating Reigns.

100% Drew. Easily HHH's worst booking decision since taking over. You had a clear path to split the titles right here, have Drew win the WWE Championship and Roman continue on as Universal.
Cody vs. Drew and Seth vs. Roman
at WM sound WAY more interesting to me.

After last night I'm 100% that Drew losing was the worse move. Sami is still going to be involved with the Bloodline and likely winning the tag titles at Mania. What Drew has been doing since CatC isn't close to that.

What Drew has been doing since CatC isn't close to that. He’s probably gonna be the fall guy for Sheamus finally winning the IC belt so that Gunther doesn’t have to be.
