I'm down for going back to running the full tourney in the same night. Maybe not the full tournament but in my opinion at least the last 3 round should be on the PLE. The winner should have to win 3 matches in one night. Having just the last 2 rounds (or even worse just the finals) cheapens it. The problem comes with the women having their own tournament on the same night. Two 8 person tournaments would come out to 14 total matches (assuming no byes) and that's without any non-tournament matches. That's a lot for a non Wrestlemania show. Maybe you can make it a two night show with one tournament each night but I don't know if WWE wants to do that for any show besides Wrestlemania. |

I'm sure King/Queen of the Ring will be terrible like it always is. It's funny with King of the Ring as I always wanted them to bring it back when they stopped doing them after 2002 but it's really been "be careful what you wish for" as every one they've done since they brought it back as been total trash with bad booking and winners who go nowhere afterwards as they always just have some midcard heel win it so they can give them a royalty gimmick and they don't get eleveated at all. Then last year they added Queen of the Ring which was even worse and just an absolute dumpster fire with crap short matches under three minutes and Zelina Vega of all people winning it. WWE seem to really overthink the whole concept. Just have the winner get a title shot at a major show like the New Japan Cup does for example.
On the 1st of July they're doing Money in the Bank in the UK, so just have the tournament winner get the title shot there. You can use Charle's coronation if you really need to play into the whole King/Queen part. I'm don't like giving the winners automatic title shot. You can use the tournament to build a wrestler up to be potential contender for the title but awarding a title shot makes it less likely a non Main Eventer could win. |
