We always mention guys who should've had World title reigns, but what about the mid card titles?
Was there a specific point in time where you wanted a certain wrestler to hold a mid card title in WWE?
A popular one is Sheamus with the IC title. Some have wanted John Cena to be an IC champion as well to make his title career complete.
Anyone else who was a hot mid card act at a time that should've been strapped up with a title?

Hakushi as the IC champion is always my goto answer.
Nova as ECW TV champion.
Did Saturn have the US title?
Arn Anderson US champion.

Sean Waltman as IC or US champion. He had the European title, so it wasn't like he was inexperienced being a non-cruiserweight singles champ.

I think Seth, Roman and Jinder should of all held midcard titles before holding a world title, especially Jinder

Could have also seen, had Goldust not been in the picture, him getting the IC title and rubbing it in Razor's face after his 1-2-3 Kid Heel turn. And of course he was sorta in the US Title picture as Syxx (though he ended up being more focused with the Cruiserweight title and being a substitute for an Outsider with the tags).

X-Pac never getting the IC title is wild to me considering he's the exact kind of guy who should've. I remember looking back and remembering him being European champion, winning the tag belts with Kane, and even being light-heavyweight champion in his post-DX years, but it's like he just skipped the title that fit him best.
Also, Kurt Angle's one and only reign as US Champion was with the "WCW" US Championship during the Invasion angle. Another guy who seems like a must-have-been has a brief reign with the WCW belt (a beautiful belt at least!) and not the main WWE one. Sure, it technically counts, but still. I wish his comeback from 2018-19 involved him winning the US title and putting someone better than Corbin over at WM.

IC: Cesaro, Sheamus (could still happen), Cena, Aleister Black
US: Chad Gable (should've at least had one reign by now)

Rick "The Model" Martel in the 90's. Bret and Perfect were Champs then, but still. While I do agree that Rick Martel was a prototypical IC title guy, there never really was a good opening for him. When he returned to the WWF in the mid 80s, he was a tag team guy, first with Tom Zenk(Can-Am Connection) and then with Tito Santana(Strike Force) as they became tag team champions in late 1987. After they lost the tag belts to Demolition at Wrestlemania IV, Martel took time off to take care of his severely ill wife before returning to the company in 1989 where he eventually turned on his partner Tito at the following Wrestlemania. This sparked an ongoing feud between the two, so there was no chance of him gunning for the IC belt, plus Rick Rude, an effective heel himself was champ at the time, and was to drop it back to The Ultimate Warrior. I guess one opening could've been after Wrestlemania VI when Warrior forefeited the IC belt to fulfill his duties as WWF champ and could've won the tournament for the vacant belt, but that went to Mr. Perfect(who needed to get his heat back after losing to Brutus Beefcake), and he went on a sabbatical ever summer since then with his real estate business, which would explain his wanky WWF schedule moving forward. The only possible they could've squeezed in an IC title run was right after HBK was stripped of the belt in September 1993 and they had a battle royal where the final two face each other one on one the next week on RAW. Have Martel win the match instead of Razor and then drop it to Ramon shortly after. As far as who could've been IC champion when they had the full on chance to, Tatanka would be my pick. Have him win it from Shawn Michaels either at Wrestlemania IX or shortly afterwards and then drop it back to him(and lose his streak) sometime in the summer.

Paul Orndorff, Rick Martel, X-Pac and Tatanka would have made great I-C champions.
