As good as FighterZ is, the Budokai Tenkaichi games are like that ultimate DBZ bullshit. Like, FighterZ is far and away better as an actual fighter, but BT way more Dragon Bally.

BT is literally just fantasy booking lol.
Broly and Janemba tag team.
Hell they did Gogeta Vs Broly before the new movie was ever a tingle in Toriyamas nuts.
And I love that when this debuted it sparked so many f***ing ridiculous discussions about the fight..gimme Broly Vs Broly for the BT4 intro.

1)Wonder if this finally ends support for Xenoverse 2.
2)Give me OG Kid Goku and Adult Chi-Chi in a similar style to Super Dragon Ball Z and we're good.

I feel like Xenoverse 3 is totally happening at some point, but it's a matter of when. You’re probably right but it’s more that it’s weird that wasn’t announced first especially considering how much money Xenoverse 2 made. But I also get it because, well, the DB gaming events don’t usually involve Xenoverse so I can see that being a summer announcement either by Keighley or at E3.

For sure, but given it's been like 13 years since the last Tenkaichi Budokai and some fans wanting something more like those versus the more technical Fighter Z, it does feel like it's a good time to do it.

It’s a day one buy for me personally because it’s Dragon Ball, but J think they are in for a world of trouble by calling it Tenkaichi 4 because everyone, myself included, will be expecting 160 characters or however many were in Tenkaichi 3, plus new ones, and for the story to go all the way from Dragon Ball to Dragon Ball Super, WHICH THEY SHOULD DO BY THIS POINT

Yeah, again, I should say I get the context of why it's happening and as someone who played the third one on the Wii (don't judge me too much), I'm looking forward to it. I think my other concern is that I hope they're not spreading themselves too thin on it and realize the expectations of saying you're doing another Tenkaichi Budokai in the same way Capcom did when they said they were going another Marvel vs. Capcom. Like both of them, the third games are seen as the absolute pinnacle of the series so you have to be careful. Also, as someone else said, really need to sort out what to do with Super content. Because at this point, we're in a filler arc in the manga after two big arcs and the fact they haven't done anything with those is baffling to me, animated or video game wise.

I guess they are helped along by different developers making a lot of these, and then Namco publishes it, like I think Spike Chunsoft made the previous ones, right? Admittedly, I do not know a ton about the Tenkaichi games.

I'm okay with them not covering the Super manga, but I want everything from the Super anime in there. The thing that concerns me is console DLC was barely a thing when the last game came out, and the modern Dragon Ball games tend to love their DLC character packs, getting the full roster in this game may cost a small forturne

All of them is absolutely unreasonable, that could be its own game. I mean all characters critical to telling Son Goku’s story through Super. I want an insanely deep story mode where I can play through every single anime arc across all 4 Dragon Ball series and movies. I grew up a single child in the 90’s, I play fighting games for the single player.
