OK this deserves a thread too because that match was insane. I really feel like this feud was Moxley and Hangman getting the feud they each wished they got with Punk. Hangman in particular really needed a redemptive feud like this after Punk tried so desperately to torch his credibility. So many of the spots were wince inducing tonight but like in a perfect brutal way ugh, that was easily MOTN, they laid EVERYTHING out there and this felt like the perfect conclusion.
Also Hangman's entrance *chef's kiss*

Should be a five star match without even a question about it
These two killed each other and did spots that Darby Allin would both flinch at and take notes on lmfao
Hangman losing a clump of hair from the barbed wire chair was horrifying, I hope both dudes are ok and if they are not at Wednesdays show, trust me, we understand lol

Loved it. On any other card it might have been match of the night but I think there were 2 matches that bit better.
Seen a few people on Twitter who thought it was too brutal. I think some of the spots were a bit stupid (Hangman wrapping himself in Barb wire while Mox stood there for eternity waiting to be moonsaulted on) but I enjoyed it overall. We should have known what to expect from this.

It would have been fun to do a reaction video to this match and watch me just squirm and say "ow! ow! ow!" at the part where Mox stabbed Hangman with the fork over and over while wincing and looking with one eye open.

The match was insane but can we talk about how huge a f***ing star Hangman looked with his entrance?
That shit was incredible- the slow guitar and images on screen fade away to the music and the red and black horse and letters hit and then boom, there he is- our hero. f***ing goddamn epic man.

I need to watch it again as I did last night but I can’t say I didn’t really care for it but because Mox bleeds and overacts every week that def took away from the match for me
Hangman tho, star performance

It really overdelivered.
I was kind of worried Moxley would win. It's not like it'd have hurt Hangman in any meaningful way, but I think this was a rub for Page, even with him already being one of the top guys, anyway. Just like him going the distance with Bryan, it definitely highlighted one of Page's strengths as a face: maintaining a mean streak when it's called for.
I also think this loss actually helps Moxley be more nuanced. I like that submitting shows that, for his talk of trying to end careers, etc, he isn't a mindless beast, and he knows when someone's got him dead to rights.

Loved it. It really felt like two men trying to kill each other.

One review had it at 4 stars. The other had it at a D- rating (usually a very AEW positive reviewer as well). Just checked Scott Keith’s review and he had it at 4.5 stars. Some of the spots sound brutal on paper.

Hangman needed a bit of an edge to him, tbh, and I think this did the job. Were there a few spots I winced at? Yeah. Did part of me wonder if a match of this type should have been the main event? Yeah. But at the end of the day, it f***ing rocked.

I enjoyed it but deathmatch isn't really my thing. Preferred the Trios match, Final Burial and the Iron Man to this.

The entrance, the brutality, the stuff Hangman was willing to do to win, the fact that he made Moxley of all people tap out literally trying to hang the guy with a chain? Yeah, I think it was a big deal for ol' Hangman. The key, as always, is follow up. If he's back to smiling, Anxious Millennial Cowboy after this, then I'd consider it a bit of a miss. His character needs to evolve a bit.

Not remotely what I want to see in wrestling, but the right man won and good for Moxley to put him over big.

Definitely not a match for everyone but I loved it, I don't enjoy some of the more gruesome stuff you might have seen in the Tournament of Death or whatever, but this kind of thing is absolutely fine by me, nothing that seemed *too* over the top or like it was going to seriously injure either guy. Right result too with Hangman winning, interested to see when they have him face MJF assuming he has a long reign.

It is interesting to see the backlash this match is getting...Saw where the teacher for the Wrestling Club is going on about never being able to show his students this. I wouldn't think most of the product would be school appropriate anyway?

Fun Fact; this was Mox’s first submission loss in almost TEN YEARS.
He tapped to Bryan on a 10/21/2013 ep of Raw.

I love when gimmick matches become synonymous with wrestlers, and it sure seems like Hangman is becoming just that with the Texas Death Match.
