That means Smackdown will have to be taped as there is no way they're going to be able to run that live. Also maybe the earliest show to air live in NA ever? No, that would still be the 2018 Melbourne stadium show, because Perth would be three hours behind Melbourne once you account for daylight savings and whatnot (which for an 8pm local start, means a 7am start on the US east coast and 4am start on the US west coast).

Won’t be surprised if UFC runs a card in Australia at the same time so they can just stick everyone in the same charter. 😂

Rhea’s gonna get a hell of a hometown pop.
On that note, EC being the show where big hometown pops happen is a nice recurring thing.

It’s the nearest big city to Perth, sure, but it’s still 1300 miles difference (which says a lot about Perth being one of the most isolated large cities in the world). It’d be like if they tried to do the hometown thing with Sami Zayn this year but had the show in, like, Winnipeg. (Won’t stop us from backing her as a whole-ass Australian, though)

I can see a special edition of the Grayson Waller Effect being held there or he might be challenging for a title at that event.

Reportedly there have already been 80,000 pre-registrations for tickets, which greatly exceeds the capacity of the stadium. This will probably drop once the actual tickets go on sale and everybody knows what the prices will be, but still, that bodes well.

I don't think I will be watching this live. It will be on at 3 a.m. over here. I am an early bird, yes, but not that early. Unless I have trouble sleeping.

I wonder if they'll do a wee tour at the same time. When they were in London for MITB they did some shows in Newcastle, Paris and a few other places.
Would be nice because Australia and New Zealand were meant to get a tour in 2020 which obviously didn't happen. It kept getting postponed but new dates were never set.

If shows from Australia mean 6:00AM start times, then I'd prefer Corpus Christi.

I'm interested in the logistics of all this.
Cause not only do they have transport the EC structure an incredible long distance.. But set it up in a large open air stadium. They have done it with HIAC before, but how are they gonna keep the EC suspended above the ring when it's not in use, without it impeeding the line of sight of patrons in the upper stadium seating?

They did it for the Elimination Chamber show they did in Saudi. They build a big scaffold that goes over the ring, like for Manias.

Hopefully Mami won't end up serenading the crowd with some AC/DC after losing a title match to Nia Jax.

Bit of concern heading into Christmas about slow ticket sales for the show. There are reports saying they may be as low as 8,000 tickets to this point (but I suspect that could be a typo, the seating chart on Ticketmaster looks way too patchy, so 18,000 or 28,000 might be more plausible).
Price point was always going to be a motherf***er for this. Perth is the most isolated large city on Earth, so it's not cheap to get to from the other side of Australia. The best tickets on the floor are still like $5,000 each. And our economy ain't great right now either, what with all the cost of living increases. WWE ain't gonna lose out here, they already got their money for this show from the Western Australia state government, but those guys might get a bit of heat on them.
Oh, and that's another thing. Perth at the back-end of an Australian summer... Probably gonna be very hot.

Perth (a lovely city it must be said) is on the far left of this map and 90% of Australia's population live on the right. There's a few thousand miles of desert separating them so air is probably the only way to get there from another region. I can only assume that the Perth local government ponied up a lot of cash (similar to how American cities compete with each other to pay the Mania tax to bring it to their city) otherwise they'd have chosen one of the cities on the right of the country. Perth's Population is about 2 million so somewhere between Houston and Phoenix.

Wrestletix politely corrected Meltzer’s report. Maybe he read the number of tickets still available with the current set-up and somehow saw that as tickets sold but even a couple of seconds of thinking should’ve made it obvious that a major stadium show wasn’t below 10k after being on sale for a month. It just didn’t add up when there were reports a few weeks ago estimating they might already be over 40k.
I still think Rhea should main event this show. Ideally in a big singles match rather than simply being part of a chamber match. Rhea/Becky I’d probably even do here then you can still do the rematch at Mania.

Perth's Population is about 2 million so somewhere between Houston and Phoenix. That figure is a bit misleading as City of Perth covers a huge area and contains almost all of its suburbs, while the suburbs of Houston and Phoenix aren't part of those cities proper, rather the metropolitan areas. A better comparison would be comparing Perth to Greater Houston and The Valley of the Sun, and both have populations over double that of Perth.
