They'll do what they always do: move the goalposts and find another reason to criticize it. They are just going to complain that it was more "Gymanstics" BS because they never understood what the Lucha Style is. The amount of people on Twitter that I want to reply with "Yeah, should've pulled a headlock. Good call." is somehow more than infinite.

That's what I was thinking. With Kenny putting him over like he was supposed to. Once I saw Kenny beating him clean, and I had to get over the WHOA of it, I was like "they're running this back again in Mexico". Yeah, both guys winning on their home turf, Vikingo probably getting a AAA Mega Championship title defense out of it for AAA, pretty much the ideal.

I first saw Vikingo in Impact, and have been impressed with him ever since.
The match with Omega last night was a banger.

They are just going to complain that it was more "Gymanstics" BS because they never understood what the Lucha Style is. The amount of accuracy and skill that is needed for Vikingo to do half the shit he did in that match can't be overstated. Like one slip up, and it's a potential disaster. He did not slip up, that's why he's this good at 25 The "Gynmastics" thing is always portrayed as a play-down when Gymnastics are some of the most difficult categories of sports to train for and attain at a high level. The fact that assholes use it as an insult is just funny in itself to me, because it's something they could never do or even hope to achieve because it takes so much cardio, discipline, and skill to do it right, that that's why only a handful of people ever get to the Olympics from each country to represent it... To sum up, anyone who thinks wrestling incorporating any kind of gymnastic skill as a whole isn't the own they think it is, and even then, Lucha Libre has been around for decades, long before most of these people were watching in the 90's and 2000's and thought this style began with the likes of Rey Mysterio Jr., and have no idea about wrestling history, styles, or how they work, and adapt lol The big thing about high flyers that I get people disliking is that it takes sometimes, the jump is long and breath-taking. They use the time for both being able to see then flip and for safety Vikingo's style is very impressive, he goes fast,he falls hard.he doesnt bump when he hits the map, he doesnt jump high just for a slow-mo. Dude jumps spining ,falling like a brick at same time and still has perfect accuracy. In theory he removes what these people are supposed to dislike about high fliers

This guy is insane. I'd heard the name but this was the first time I've saw him.
Remember Blitzkreig in WCW? He was doing some crazy stuff for a couple of months in 1999 then seemed to just disappear from wrestling. My first impression of Vikingo watching just now was like wow this is like if Blitzkreig stuck around, got more polished and reached the ridiculous potential he had.

That wasn't my first time seeing him but he still pulled off moves I haven't seen before. He also held back a couple of big moves suggesting that he might be planning on appearing again.
For those that don't know he's facing Komander in GCW next month which should be insane. You can get a month of fite+ for that and the GCW collective shows, which also include Vikingo Vs Speedball Mike Bailey.

It's crazy to see Konnan in AEW after everything that's happened recently and the fact that he's inducting Rey this month (or at least that's the plan for now):

Really gave that feeling of like, first time seeing Rey Mysterio on TV, but there's been 20 odd years of raising the bar since with most of the roster being insane athletes, and when someone still manages to take your breath away like that, it's someone special.

Can't think of a better way to use my 10,000th FAN post than by saying that in an era where 'flippy shit' can be overdone to the point of me being too burnt out on it to really appreciate like half of the amazing stuff wrestlers can do, Vikingo made me go 'holy shit' on no less than five separate occasions. There's special, and there's Vikingo. My god.
My hope is that he actually doesn't sign anywhere concrete for a while. Have him appear a few times a year in huge match situations in AEW for a couple years. If he is doing this week in, week out a lot of the shine comes off his offense. You could sell a big chunk of PPV buyrate just by announcing him for a special attraction match every few months.
God damn I need a cigarette after that match and I haven't smoked in 8 years lol

Jesus Christ, just when you think you've seen every move in wrestling, someone proves you wrong.
What a star.

But but video packages...
Anyway, VOW had a good opinion piece about why the hand-wringing about casual fans when it comes to these things is either just really stupid or outright bad faith trolling to throw cold water on something people are excited for.

I said this already only thing I dislike about what he does is practically all of his stuff requires so much set up , while it looks cool It in the long run will be something fans just wont be able to ignore. They ignored it with PAC and still do considering the Black Arrow can take like 20 seconds to hit... I don't particularly think anything Vikingo did in this match took very long to set up. The one spot that had any hesitation was the bit where he balanced on the post... I don't think fans are gonna care much, at least the non-trolly ones.
