Cole probably went up to Vince backstage and said “How’d you like that El Generico reference, you sick old bastard? You got some shit on your upper lip, by the way.”

Some old CM Punk Livejournal posts got discussed, someone said it's a shame nobody puts random Xes in their name like old Livejournal usernames, and thus: a username trend.

Amazing amazing match paying off so much storyline and I'm so happy all these guys are WM main eventers now (well Owens is a two time WM main eventer!)
Owens and Zayn have to be main event fixtures from here on out. It makes me wish they were able to rise there more steadily after their NXT callup but 2015-nowish is...yeah. vince'd.
Unrelated to the match the rehab of Owens and Zayn to the main event has me hopeful they can eventually get there with guys like Gargano to get people's NXT vibe back for them on the main roster.

KO has to wake up every day and congratulate himself for deciding to resign with WWE a couple years ago. Two epic Manias for him in a row.

I think I'm still in tears from that stuff. It wasn't Sami winning one of the individual belts, but it was perhaps the greatest possible consolation.
All four guys proved how talented they truly are. It didn't hurt that they had one of the best storylines of the past 15+ years to build upon.
I also want to believe Sami kissed Jey on the forehead after the first Heluva but it was close, at least.
Goes to show how protected the Usos signature moves were during their reign. I didn't keep up with a ton of the weekly shows, but seeing KO and Sami get turned into mush and still kick out of the relatively rested Usos was great psychology. They booked their near-falls brilliantly.
Overall, the best 2-on-2 tag team match I've personally seen since the Bucks/Lucha Bros war at All Out a few years back (I am not the best reviewer of this as I haven't seen a ton of the Bucks' other highly rated matches not involving Kenny). It hit all the right notes, spots and storyline beats.
I saw Steenerico fight the Briscoes in a barn in Markham, Ontario nearly 20 years ago and shook Kev's hand after a show in North Tonawanda, NY nearly 10 years ago. They're now a central part of wrestling history. Bravo, my fellow Canadian buds. You've earned it.

I wish I could go back in the past and tell KO and Zayn back in NXT when KO debuted that they would main event Mania and win the tag titles.

I thought they went a smidge heavy on the superkicks, but it was still wonderful.

Said it in the main thread, and I'll say it here, the match of the year so far, and one of the greatest tag matches ever.
All those finisher kickouts had a point. We watched the Usos dominance, we all saw them pull out wins, we all saw their tricks. We knew the 1D always got the win, we knew the Bloodline would somehow find a way to squeak out the win. All of that, all those demons have been exorcised. The match had to have that many kickouts to tell the story. Every trick the Usos had wasn't enough to end it, Sami and KO had an answer for every single one. Like Cole said when Sami got tagged in and had Jey lined up for the Helluva Kick, "It's been a long time coming." Those 4 put on all time classic match, and the Usos dominance was worth it for that ending.
And credit to Cole and Corey Graves for doing an excellent job. Props to Graves for barely saying anything the last minute or so, the only thing he said was "In comes Jimmy", he let Cole call everything. When Cole is on rooting for a face (see calling WM 30, Eddie beating Brock, and everything with Rey) he's really f***ing on.

Sami's Broken Skull Sessions episode from when his match with Knoxville was getting tons of love from all sides of the industry and he had just started interacting with The Bloodline is a must watch if you wanna cry seeing a dude who sorta knows his whole career is about to change but also not really. WWE were playing it a bunch before the Rumble and it was wild to watch then but now I think it'd literally kill me.
Also it's hilarious how dude is so humble about everything *except* the Johnny Knoxville match. Like you can almost see Steve thinking that Sami's about to be shy about the Knoxville match but then Sami lays out like every reason why he's so proud of himself (and Knoxville) for making the match work and pretty much says WELL I'M NOT SAYING SHIT WAS AMAZING AND YOU'D BE A BIT OF A FREAK NOT TO SEE THE VALUE IN IT...*BUT*

So happy they won it was the right way to end Night One.
And Knoxville keeping kayfabe alive is hilarious. If only he had interfered in the match!
