It’s crazy that back in the late 90s/early 00s, Rock was by far the most selfless top star in wrestling. I guess he’s at such a high level now that he doesn’t have the same perspective as he used to. Recently he was on First Take and talked about his Dad making $120k back in the day and Rock acted like that was poverty (imagine what 120k from Rocky Johnson’s time would be today). His tone deafness is practically everything he does now is very apparent.
At first I thought there’s no way Roman is losing to Rock but now I’m not so sure.

Looking back at the beginning of this thread and then going through it is just a f***ing rollercoaster
Everyone's pissed
Everyone gets over it, begrudgingly accepting this is what they've chosen even if plenty disagree
Everyone sees Cody's storyline looking like it actually will end at this Mania
Despite the slog, people are hopeful and Cody is still over
The Rock paranoia and reports set in, people get worried, people are also told they're overreacting and things will be fine
Cody wins the Rumble, the mood is settled, the story seems clear, despite the weird Rollins promo
Smackdown happens, Cody starts his promo and it looks like our main event is set
And then he hands it over to The Rock, hugs him, and he... leaves. The show ends with the Mania Main Event as Roman vs The Rock.
Which brings us back to...
Everyone's PISSED.

So is this the most angry y’all have been at the Rock. He's been a PR god since he left WWE in 2002. He's had almost zero negative stories about him, which is fairly hard to do in Hollywood. I don't think he's a bad human being, I just think he's completely lost in his own ego. Like VKM for the last 20 years, he is surrounded by Yes Men and I am willing to bet he genuinely feels like he's helping the wrestling business by doing this. |

The Rock taking the Main Event from Cody also means that its a good bet that when it comes to match order on the first night, no matter if she faces Becky, Liv or Bianca, Mami won't be on top.

Also, I thought Roman’s promo shitting all over Rollins and the 2nd place belt was great, but knowing that Cody was going to bow out and challenge for that title, it’s crazy that they allowed Roman to say it. Like he took a giant dump all over that belt, and then 5 minutes later Cody gives up his dream to challenge for that belt. Just ridiculous all the way around.

But I always thought Dwayne was a solid guy outside of the wrestling character. Now he seems slightly less solid. |
