If you told me the week AEW opened that less than a half decade later, The Rock would be getting torched on social media because he took Cody Rhodes’ spot which he lost after CM Punk got hurt, I’d say…yep, sounds right! Remember the AEW “from undesirable to un-god dam-deniable” promo, and how everyone was like “Yo: this Cody guy could be the next big guy” in wrestling talk, and this dude The Rock even shouted it out on social media CRAAAZY |

The reality is that if they’re really going to pivot, it’s as simple as Cody being like…
“Last Friday, I talked about getting counsel from everyone. But I made a mistake, I didn’t ask you. The people who have brought me where I am. I’ve heard you. They’ve heard you, and I’m going to WrestleMania to finish *our* story.”
If there’s anyone that could deliver a line like that with conviction, it’s Cody.
Then all of this goes away. Some of us online would nitpick but it’s probably the easiest thing to do.
In reality, he’s going to beat a one legged man at WrestleMania.

Also the most WWE way to handle this would be to whine about The IWC™ so it wouldn't surprise me if more join Ricochet on that. Expect Triple H to have the bitchiest press conferences this year snipping about anyone who was mad at the booking.
