Imma take a break a bit and say that all of those "Cody should leave WWE" comments are overblown. This dude's main evented WM, is on the cover of the videogame, is making more money than ever, rarely loses and if he loses it's by shit like interference, won Rumbles, won Wargames, he's got a lot behind him. He just is being overlooked in favor of guys like Roman and Rock, part-timers who have their hands full of nepotism dating back multiple decades which has happened to numerous stars in this company. Besides that though? He's good.
Just because this happened doesn't mean Cody needs to leave. He's being booked better in WWE than he ever has been booked in any company. This is just another example of part-timers screwing with full-timers again. Same thing that happened with Seth and Ambrose years ago.
People are so quick to say somebody needs to leave when shit like this happens. I get it's upsetting but shit, we need to understand that there's a thin line between being reasonable at talking about this and going overboard because you're upset. Cody ain't gonna leave just because of something like this. This ain't Stardust, this ain't him being thrown out of the ring in 5 seconds, like bruh. What we really doing here.
I see nobody saying Yuta Wheeler need to leave AEW when mans loses like 90% of his matches lol.

Dude became a massive movie star and it probably blew his ego up. I hope Philly booes him to shreds Yeah, guess so. I've become a massive star on this board, but I haven't let it gone to my head. Well, you do have issues.

Wow, I thought it was a lock. As it is, WWE and the Rock may have engineered the one scenario in which he might get booed. Good job
And Cody looks like a fool. He owes the Rock nothing. You had a chance to avenge the most embarrassing moment of your career. And you just give it away because… why? I know it’s not his fault. One of the biggest stars in the world wanted his spot. And he got it. But this plays into the things that made his AEW run go south. Martyr Cody tends to wear thin, quickly.

Know who else had a big, crowning payoff moment whose can kept getting kicked for years? Roman, funny enough. Denied every chance on match after match to get his win over Brock, left going absolutely nowhere and failing to get anything moving. It left him struggling for years, needing 'his coronation' even after he'd already held the world title, and when it finally happened, it didn't push his career to new heights, it just felt like it was finally over. Roman only finally got that accepted top guy push as a heel completely reinvented from everything they wanted him to be, and in the end the ways that Roman built his legacy have piss-all to do with his Brock matches and his failures to ever get one over here. Except, Brock was the guy being built up at the expense of the whole entire company, and instead of playing the role of kingmaker finally handing it over to Roman, all of the years of energy put into him just kinda fizzled out into pointlessness. He didn't launch Roman to new heights so the ways they fed pretty much everyone to him never really felt worth it.
It's an interesting contrast, ain't it?

There's no chance Roman's even taking a damn move before Mania, much less losing the belt before then. At best Cody will win it on whichever of the Saudi shows is next or SummerSlam and more likely, this title run will get punted down the road another year because we can't end it until we've done the Rock rematch and Austin.

Rock isn't having his first match in over a decade in Australia at 7am US time, Roman isn't dropping the title at a b PPV, Rock sure as hell isn't having his return be a non-title match.
Get in the cuck chair Cody

There's still no company that's going to book him better while giving him as much money, promotion and have him be the star like this. He got f***ed here like Seth did years ago. They got an issue doing this to stars. Cody didn't deserve this.

Yeah it’d be better if Cody beat him at EC and Rock vs Roman was non title at WM.
Better, but still not good.

Just watched the segment.
Oooooooof, absolutely brutal for Cody. In kayfabe he looks either stupid or scared of Reigns to give up the chance to get revenge for last year. Either way it's character assassination.
Cody is very good at talking, he's capable of salvaging almost anything, the old turning chicken shit into chicken salad saying comes to mind. But even he couldn't find a logic to make sense of what he was doing. You could see in his face he knew how bad this was.
I'm pretty amazed, this is the sort of terrible booking that Vince at his worst used to do. Absolutely killed the top babyface, made him look weak and stupid.
