Rock just put up a long promo that kind of fills in some of the weird gaps we've talked about here. Rock called Cody a few weeks before Mania to have a conversation about "having the biggest Mania of all time." Cody says "it stings, but he understood." Rock apparently told Cody "let's have the biggest Wrestlemania of all time" when he got in the ring.

I'm wondering if we hear tonight or soon that this isn't totally true and Rock's being disingenuous. He also destroys Dave LaGreca of Busted Open in this promo. Pretty spectacular stuff.

My theory was that Rock gaslit Cody into thinking Roman/Rock is the match the world wanted for years and the best thing to do for the fans but then once he saw how people reacted in the following days and how much of an asshole Rock was being he was like f*** that people want to see me beat Roman more than that match. Glad that seems to be the direction. It pretty much had to be actually because I couldn't think of any other logical explanation.

That reminds me of a rant he put up on Facebook or whatever back in 2011-12 just going at Cena for like 10-15 minutes. Like that one they probably won't put this on TV outside maybe a quick soundbite or two which is a shame because they're some of his best promos since his peak. Although if they aired this whole thing plus whatever in-ring promo plus backstage stuff he's doing tonight he'd probably be taking up 75% of the show.

I hope they announce the tag match for night 1 tonight. Even if you can obviously tell what a match is going to be the OCD in me hates when they hold off and hold off on announcing it, like the tag main event last year not being made official until like 2 weeks before the PPV.

I think part 2 of The Rock's Instagram video (there's clearly a second part, since it just sort of cuts off as he's going in on Seth Rollins), combined with The Rock's response tonight will lead to the challenge officially being thrown down by Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins next Monday night for a tag team match at WrestleMania XL.

They reuploaded it with the last 6 minutes that were supposed to be there. Rock just went off for like 21 minutes on Cody/Seth and everybody. The best part of the whole promo is in this part when Rock says something "man to man" to Cody.

If they bring this kind of stuff to TV, it's gonna be good.

Cody started to bring up the convo he had with Rock that led him to give up the spot at Elimination Chamber but then got cut off so I assume we’ll get it eventually.

At first I was kinda hoping for the whole thing to be a long-con from Cody and Rock to trick Roman but nah, I want heel Rock for longer than 2 months this time. Even if he's not around every week keep this going for longer. Roman can drop the title, go face and their eventual match can be with Rock as the heel.
