At this point, I feel like I can confidently say that the Bloodline storyline has become the wrestling equivalent of the Spider-Man Clone Saga: profitable and gripping at the time, a disappointing and incoherent mess in retrospect.

If they end up doing Cody vs. Seth, after they let Roman just BURY Seth and his title tonight. Even more idiotic. Roman’s a heel, so I don’t see what the big deal is about him trash talking the title. I mean Seth is a face and even he was trashing Roman’s title on Raw. It’s going to be on Seth and Cody’s backs to make their match feel as special as possible. The match itself will be great of course but we’ll see how engaging they can make the story going in. It’s not a big deal if it’s a different match and Seth goes and kills it with Drew and Sami. It is a big deal now if that’s the match because they had Roman call it the losers title, and Cody gave up his match to go be in the consolation match. It’s indefensible now. |

Can't believe people aren't interested in Cody beating a guy he's already 3-0 against at WM. And that's why Cody chokes again at Mania. Absolutely no way Seth wants to go 0-3. He probably desperately wants to get his win back from him for Mania 38. So yeah, go for it Seth! |

Again, not buying it unless it happens. Okay so then what do you think is happening? Like what's the narrative purpose of this story twist now if it's not supposed to happen. You can talk all about how everyone else is wrong and bad thinking but like. How do you see this not going the way they're saying it's going? What is the master stroke? They don't want Cody winning the title to overshadow what they have planned for Mania After Roman beats Rock at Mania, the lights go out, a video plays, with Morgan Freeman narrating with intense music, "7 months ago, he was fired, now, he's back" Madcap Moss theme hits and the crowd is so loud it causes an earthquake, the rafters fall on roman, Moss pins him and ends Roman's historic reigns "Seperate Ways by journey" plays, Brooks Jensen comes out, and sets up Madcap Moss Vs Brooks Jensen for Mania next year, the crowd is so loud it causes another earthquake and everyone's TV's explode because of how loud it is |

Since the Netflix version's out in a few days this is the metaphor coming to mind for me, this is like if Aang was about to fight Ozai then decided, "No, no, you're right, I can't do this," and took a step back to allow SpongeBob to show up and do it because he's the bigger star.

Does anyone get the feeling that this came from above Triple H if Dave’s report is true? This is not the kind of thing Haitch would typically do, drifting from a long term story to hotshot something else. No because if I remember correctly, Vince was actually going to have Cody win the title at Mania. HHH or whoever else was the one who decided otherwise. That was at least the report. All of this does reek of WWE trying to put up as much of a distraction as possible actually. The sniff test has gone into the red. |

I don't know what happened, there were never stories (as far as I'm aware) of him pulling stuff like this in the late 90s or early 2000s like HBK, Austin, HHH or Taker did. |

But given how many other times it's looked like X would happen and it ends up being something else, assuming he DOES defend, it'll be Cody swerving Roman and he dethrones him at WM thanks to the Rock and Rock/Roman happens next year. Yes, adds some complications that it doesn't exactly need but either way, Cody is walking out of WM with the Universal Championship and Roman will have nothing. Either way, Cody gets his revenge and "take(s) everything from" Roman (his words, not mine). |
