Okay, okay not bad. It had some lulls, but it was a decent two hours.
I liked Zoey Starks. What she was saying about the NXT women's title is how I felt about the NXT men's title after Bron won it.
I like Pretty Deadly, but I thought their music would be..."more". It's very generic for their personalities.
Vince and Kevin Dunn are going to HATE Gallus based on their accents alone.
Dragon Lee vs. Nathan Frazer was MOTN for me. Great stuff. Frazer was giving me early Sami Zayn underdog vibes.
Also welcome back to Noam Dar. I had no idea what a Heritage Cup was until Vic explained it, but Dar vs. Lee. Yes please.
Andre Chase (I think that's his name, the leader) gives me Johnny Gargano vibes. Lots of vibes today y'all.
LOVE Alba and Isla's presentation/vignette. I love me some dark, and spoopy stuff.
Indi vs. Zoey was okay. I'm not familiar with everyone so Tiffany coming out, and Cora coming out was kinda "okay" to me.
I will say I'm glad there's many revolving women around the championship. Unlike the main roster which tends to focus on one at a time.
Zoey, Cora, Roxanne wherever she is, Tiffany, all in the mix. Makes it interesting.
I gave less than a shit about whatever (checks notes) Kiana James and Fallon Henley were doing. Worst bit of the show.
Ivy vs. Tatum, again didn't do much for me given I don't watch, and know the stories. But I do like Ivy's submission and the way she locks it in.
Ilja vs. Von Magnon. Eh. Love me some Dragunov tho.
Wes Lee vs. Axiom. Decent match. Cool to see Lee in singles, and doing so well after seeing him for so long in Impact.
Laughed my ass off at Scryptz (sp?) trying to be all mysterious, and then coming in and immediately getting bitched out with a kick. Rolled laughing.
Is that Scryptz's deal? He's a dork?
Melobration was alright. I haven't seen a lot of Carmelo, but the guy is money, and while I miss when the NXT title had the prestige it did during Black and Gold, I can't dwell and hopefully Hayes can do more with it than the stranglehold Bron BonBon had on it. Speaking of, Bron turns heel. The crowd barks. That made me laugh.
Also what if Hayes hadn't brought him back for the handshake? Did that piss Bron off and was like "dude, my latte is getting cold...you know what....CLOTHESLINE!"
All in all, not a bad show at all. I was expecting the worst and was thoroughly entertained. Some of it was bad (Henley/James) and some of it was great, and even though I can't watch with you all live due to work, I may check out next week too.
I'm intrigued.
