Sane people probably never worried about this, but...
Both Ariels are still being merchandised by Disney. The 1989 one was never erased, forgotten, etc.

Lawn darts. At least more modern versions that are made of plastic. Rey Mysterio is still wrestling...

For the Simpsons “the City of New York vs Homer Simpson” was pulled from syndication for a few years because of 9/11 and is available on DVDs same with the Michael Jackson episode it’s on dvds but won’t be on Disney plus. On that topic...the Red Skull episode of Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends. Not on D+, but is it still on Amazon Prime?

Immediately thought of Outlaw Star and the hot springs episode, which finally aired on Toonami in 2018. Not actually banned as much as it was easier not to air it than it was to edit it down. Someone in the UK tried to edit that episode for air, apparently it was a total hackjob and what remained was never aired. No, when CNX was still a thing that episode aired uncensored. Full naked Aisha and everything. I know because I watched it back in 2003. Also it was after watershed hours, so no need to be so cesnorous. (not a word, but don't care.) Ah, being a young teen boy in the UK with cable was a wonderful thing in the early 2000's. So much softcore porn... I can't believe the UK went from having something as cool as CNX, to it becoming a supremely mid version of Toonami with Parker Lewis Can't Lose on it in the space of 5 years, but I'm blaming the same decay US CN went through after that Aqua Teen bomb scare

Toy companies do this a lot to avoid lawsuits, they just stop using gimmicks after high profile incidents to avoid bad press. Look at cold sparking toys, remember how they were everywhere in the 80s and 90s? Companies stopped using the gimmick for a long time after a little girl set their sibling on fire with rollerblade Barbie, a sibling they'd spritzed with hairspray. There was no ban, no lawsuit but they erred on the side of caution. diswww.mit.edu/tla/humor/442

For years rumor was if you ordered a copy of The Anarchist's Cookbook from any book store your name went on a watch list. "It's kind of banned. Gotta get your copy at a gun show."
Nope that was bullshit. But meant the gun show booths that sold copies could ask 35 bucks for a 12 buck book and sell out fast.

Cannibal Holocaust was probably not banned in as many countries as claimed.

the game manhunt. it caused an outrage due to it being snuff film the game according to the media and was close to being banned in the uk until the press moved on to another outrage. Oddly enough it was banned in New Zealand for 20 years only for it quietly be given an R18 rating (New Zealand's highest classification rating) a few months ago.
