Ted disputing the story was something like, "Cody likes to tell stories" but then his actual point of contention was "I'm sure I didn't phrase it just like that" rather than disagreeing with any of the actual meat of the story, thus calling into question why he was even insisting it didn't happen when he is still conceding it basically had. It was very Rick James "I didn't mess up their couch. Thinking about ing tht I probably did mess up their couch" of him.
Like I'm sure Cody exaggerated some of it because he's a storyteller and good storytellers exaggerate some truths for entertainment value. But the "f*** on me" thing I believe is exactly how it was said. Because that's too ridiculous and silly for Cody to just make up lmao.
I think you can verify that part purely by Maffew sat next to him already mouthing the words because he's heard it before

So in the pecking order of celebrities who can get away with anything, DiBiase Jr <<< Brett Favre. That's been known for awhile, just ask Jenn Sterger. The DiBiase family should have asked Vince for advice on how to get way with corruption and crime Vince: "Step 1 is you have to have somebody below you that will see more consequences than you. The problem for you, is that you're those people in this." Think about that, that's how despicable this entire thing is. The Dibiases are the low ones on the totem pole for this welfare fraud scandal.

Lots of references to Ted Sr. being a scumbag. What was his part in all of this? I don't see anything about him getting charged.

Did you ever imagine Virgil could end up less desperate for cash than a DiBiase?

He hasn't been charged to this point, but he has been named in lawsuits about it, his ministry received over $2 million and has had to pay $800,000 of it back, and there's a documented email of him personally receiving $250,000 and forwarding it to his sons to boast about it. He's definitely complicit in everything; they may not have formally charged him yet but then they also just now charged Ted Jr. so it could come at any time.

Finding out Ted Sr. and his kids are dirty was like finding out what Bill Cosby had been up to. For like 25 years, all you heard was that DiBiase was this grounded, humble, charitable guy, the opposite of his in-ring character. Now I just assume everyone in wrestling has some jaw-dropping sleaze they're hiding from everybody.

My dad is a Christian minister, so I got to be around a lot of ministers while growing up, and I came to realize just how many people get into the ministry for motivations that don't primarily involve helping people or making the world a better place. I'm not even necessarily implying criminal or shady intentions, but something about Ted's post-wrestling career never quite rubbed me right. I think it's always bothered me when I see a washed up celeb dive into religion, use it as a means to continue profiting from their image, all the while talking about how the fame and fortune led to their ruin.

His ministry was receiving a couple of thousand dollars a year prior to his son getting a job in the welfare system, then went to receiving hundreds of thousands a year. He clearly knew there was something wrong with that, he's a rich, famous white guy who ran a church in the american south, if he was entitled to more he would have been handed it on a silver platter, but he but took the money anyway, He's been ordered to repay it, but god knows if he will.

Might just be a matter of time before he gets charged. Honestly Ted Jr. being charged was a bit of a surprise. It seemed like this was largely on Brett, and while Ted bought a house with the dirty money, it seemed like his worst sin was not asking where it came from.

A lot of people go into the ministry for the reasons that one would expect a grifter to go into it for. Tax free and the ministers essentially work on a tip service weekly. Which is why some places ostracize people that don’t donate into the offering plate. Sad state of affairs.

CHARGES.... - PURCHASE OF SAPPHIRE, A HUMAN BEING. - KICKING BALL AWAY FROM KID. - FAILURE TO PAY TAXES TO DUTCH GOVERNMENT FOR SEASONAL NETHERLANDS-ANTILLES RESIDENCE. - ABUSE OF BODYGUARD. - ABUSE OF NIKOLAI VOLKOFF. - ILLEGAL ACQUISITION OF WWF CHAMPIONSHIP.

They can really only be convicted if they knew they were taking money that was not for them, and Brett Farve literally has a text saying "this money is meant for poor people", and they elected to not charge him.
