I will refrain from judging the main character too harshly. A. it's a trailer, and B. a lot of times, these sorts of characters start off at their most abrasive and get smoothed out. Like, if someone judged Steven Universe as a character solely for how he came off in a couple of episodes of season 1, they'd really be missing out on the kind of person he shaped up into. Funny thing is I feel like Steven gets way the hell less likable as the show goes. His constant martyr complex just gets really damn grating.

Honestly I liked the fact that Steven and the Gems were so flawed, it made their story arcs so fun like with Pearl’s being so neurotic and sometimes thoughtless. Steven feeling that way made sense to me given his youth and what he went through fighting aliens.

I do quite enjoy this series. If I were a kid I can totally see this being one of my Saturday morning Disney obsessions. It's a shame I've seen nobody rave about it elsewhere, which convinces me it's probably gonna get cancelled. There's a reddit group for the show also that isn't very highly active...it kind of follows the pace of the show's schedule every weekend.
Scott and Hailey have such great chemistry, and at this point they've done everything a couple does except kiss, there's no real obstacle anymore other than Hailey avoiding it, and I'm certain Scott knows about the crush rather than be oblivious and is just waiting for Hailey to be confident enough to want it for both of them.
This week's episodes were about hair gel, bears, and Hailey's parents trying to get married after finding out they weren't officially hitched...episode sets up that new status quo, and you think it's going to end with them actually married...but nope, the new status quo is preserved at the end. Hailey and her parents THINK the wedding was pulled off without a hitch, so the show probably won't address this going forward, it's just a cute little 'here we go again' gag for the audience at the end.

It's looking increasingly likely that the show's been axed. Production has been completed on the series and they had a wrap-party with no second season greenlit just yet twitter.com/owlphibia/status/1779202006260785268Real bummed. I was super into the show, but it was obvious they had abandoned all their major arcs and didn't tap into the potential of the stakes it could have raised.

The ep with Mick Foley aired today. He did a pretty good job, though it was odd hearing him play a sterotypical "mean" wrestler.

Definitely feels like the show is reaching it's endgame now.
Kristie is over Scott, resolving that love triangle, and Hailey's mom now knows she's in love with Scott and is her confidante.
