i highly doubt we'll get anime, CBS will probably show their paramount plus shows, NBC will show their peacock shows etc, way before they'd show anime Yeah, that was one of the rumored things to happen when the Pandemic first hit and shut down new programming that companies would use their streaming shows to fill the time but that didn’t quite come to plan so potentially that could happen here. Also, a lot of these companies barely take animation seriously, you think they’ll change their mind on animation from another country all of a sudden? i think CBS showed the Good Fight or whatever that show was, like it might not have been as much as one would think but it was definitely there

And considering some of these companies need to promote their services more, you might as well (obviously if you're not going to pay these people what they deserve, which they should but we're talking about entitled big wigs here).

What are the odds, if this lasts awhile, that Warner (AEW) and Fox (WWE) possibly ask for some live specials from their wrestling outfits?

The only anime I can possibly see airing on broadcast tv is Spy X Family. Everything else is way too niche.

I expect a bunch of Skill and pure luck based gameshows to start popping in to.
Reality shows also have writers (it's also why I didn't put trivia on the gameshow stuff), a lot of reality TV can use just editing but they absolutely have writers.

If this goes into August, I assume damn near every preseason NFL football game will get shown. LOL

I wonder if MLS is kicking itself by putting their games (most, anyway) on ATV+ exclusively...

Even ignoring the huge bias against animation that would render any attempts to play anime to a broader audience a 100% flop on every possible level, it's not somewhere you want to turn to for stability right now because the anime industry in its own right is having a ton of production issues of late that sooner or later are going to have to reach a head and cause the industry to be drastically reshaped.

Have a feeling that the fall tv season won't start til after the World Series this year, Fox may ask to have almost the entire LCS they got on bog Fox. Maybe see the NBA opening week national tv games being simulcast on ABC (For ESPN) and CBS (For TNT) plus movie packages on CBS, NBC and ABC on sundays. We may see anime air in primetime in the states Demon Slayer (it'll have to be edited heavily to comply with FCC decency standards) or My Hero Academia for example Anime can barely get an hour and a half on Toonami every Saturday night, I'd be shocked to see it ever make it on broadcast television.

My mother had me look this up because she's a huge reality show fan, and based on an article by Reuters, shows like Bachelor and other reality shows' writers are on a separate union and won't be affected like these writers are.

I hope that the strike isn't longer than the 2007-8 strike Hard to say since the entertainment business isn't the same now as it was in the late 2000s.

Oh no, Joe Exotic is somehow going to use this to get his Tiger King sequel over, isn't he?

But let me get serious...I am of two minds, as I am with most things.
Of course I want to see the people whose work I admire doing what they do best. I want to have time with the characters and worlds I love. But I also know the people behind those need to get what they want too.
