Here is the Complete History for Clash/Night of Champions. Here are my Night of Champions Thoughts (Sorry for the delay, I watched when I came home from work & then had to eat dinner):
For the record, my picks, which I posted last night: Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn, Seth Rollins, Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, GUNTHER, & Becky Lynch.
I came home from work & watched Night of Champions. I love that you can now rewind live programming on Peacock. What's one good thing about not watching live is I can skip the Kickoff.
Excellent opening video with Triple H.
I love the details of the new World Heavyweight Championship & how it includes the Winged Eagle, the McMahon Family Crest, & a tribute to Bruno Sammartino. I love that the World Heavyweight Title Match is starting the show. I don't mind that.
BTW, I love the stage & ramp set-up. And I love even in Saudi Arabia, the fans love Seth Rollins. Also, another good thing about watching it not live is I can fast-forward through the video packages that we have seen a million times.
Seth Rollins VS AJ Styles was incredible. It's going to be a long night if everyone has to follow that. I love Triple H presenting Rollins with the new Championship. And it's official, it's a new Championship & doesn't continue the lineage of the old Championship. My Picks: 1 for 1.
Love the James Bond themed MITB Commercial.
I don't think there's anything in the cups that The Street Profits were drinking. They don't drink in Saudi Arabia.
Becky Lynch VS Trish Stratus was really good even though the build for the match was horrible. I hope Becky doesn't get in trouble. Her pant leg was up for a while & you saw her skin. I was not expecting Zoey Stark to help Trish. Wow. My Picks: 1 for 2.
Awesome video for Mustafa Ali.
Excellent intro for GUNTHER by Imperium. And I love they changed it as they said GUNTHER was the longest reigning IC Champion this century & not "the modern era", since the 80s are part of the Modern Era.
Mustafa Ali VS GUNTHER was a fun Intercontinental Match. I'm glad that it wasn't a squash & Ali had some offense & a chance to win the match. GUNTHER continues his Reign on his 351st Day with a successful 11th Title Defense (1st since Benoit in 2000). My Picks: 2 for 3.
Great segment with Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn. I am so happy that they are here.
Cool appearance by LA Knight. I like them having the other wrestlers not on the card sitting in the crowd.
It's cool that WWE did a Make-A-Wish in Saudi Arabia. Times are changing for the better there.
Bianca Belair VS Asuka was a great match. I think I liked it more than their WrestleMania Match. The finish was different. This ends Belair's Raw Women's Title Reign at 420 Days & with 14 Defenses, which was the most of All-Time. Asuka is the 4th 3x Raw Women's Champion after Sasha Banks, Alexa Bliss, & Charlotte Flair & the 3rd to be Raw Women's & Women's Tag Champ 3 times after Sasha & Alexa. This was the 1st Women's Title Change at Night of Champions since Flair defeated Nikki Bella in 2015. My Picks: 2 for 4.
Cool appearance by Karrion Kross & Scarlett.
Damn, Natalya VS Rhea Ripley was a squash. That is disrespectful to Natalya. A veteran like Natalya who gets a Women's Title Match once a year should not be treated like an enhancement talent. That is complete BS. This continues Ripley's Smackdown Women's Title Reign at 55 Days with a successful 2nd Title Defense. My Picks: 3 for 5.
Excellent promo by Seth Rollins. I am so happy that he won the World Heavyweight Championship. He deserves it after carrying Raw for all of these years.
Cody Rhodes VS Brock Lesnar sucked like their match at Backlash. I think it's time for Brock to take a vacation & go back to his farm. Yes, it was cool that Cody gave his all & fought from the heart, blah, blah, blah, but he can do better. My Picks: 3 for 6. Thank God for the Fast-forward button. I skipped commercials & crappy video on Ronda Rousey to get to the Main Event.
Come on, WWE & their Revisionist History. Roman Reigns has been Universal Champion for 1000 Days. You can't compare it to the lengths of the WWE Championship. They are different Titles. He's only been WWE Champ for 419 Days.
Incredible reaction for Sami Zayn. I got emotional watching him get emotional. It is so cool that he's finally allowed to wrestle in Saudi Arabia.
Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn VS The Bloodline was tremendous. The Stunner into the Spear was unbelievable. The ref bump was silly, but made sense. Everything with The Usos was amazing. I'm glad that it was the main event. It deserved to close the show. This extends Owens & Zayn's Tag Title Reign to 56 Days with a successful 2nd Defense. It was Reigns' 1st loss since he & Zayn lost to Owens & John Cena on Smackdown on December 30, 2022. My Picks: 4 for 7.
Here are my NOC Match Rankings:
1) Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn VS The Bloodline
2) Seth Rollins VS AJ Styles
3) Mustafa Ali VS GUNTHER
4) Bianca Belair VS Asuka
5) Becky Lynch VS Trish Stratus
6) Cody Rhodes VS Brock Lesnar
7) Natalya VS Rhea Ripley
Ends an Incredible Night of Champions. Besides Rhodes/Lesnar & Natalya/Ripley, everything was fantastic. Once again, WWE hits it out of the park with an awesome PPV. A lot of people refuse to watch shows from Saudi Arabia. Well, they're going to miss out on of the best shows of the year.
