BTW, I was busy this weekend, so I didn't get a chance to finish my Weekly Column, so it will be 3 weeks next week, but what's the point as I still don't have my Facebook Page working to post it on.
Here are my Raw Thoughts:
Excellent promo by Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn. The Judgment Day were great. Dominik Mysterio is so good in his role. Owens & Zayn VS The Judgment Day will be awesome. I am still shocked that Sami will be wrestling in Saudi Arabia. Night of Champions will be Roman Reigns' 1st Tag Team Championship Match since he & Seth Rollins lost to The Bar by Disqualification on RAW on February 5, 2018 & if they win, Solo Sikoa will join The Usos & Rikishi as the 1st time a father & 3 sons would all be Tag Champs.
I love the Battle Royal & the opportunity for so many different wrestlers including the Free Agents & the NXT Call-Ups & we're not getting the same people over again. And again, it's not GUNTHER's Raw debut. He wrestled 5 times on Raw since 2019.
But, history is being made tonight as VS The Miz will be Shinsuke Nakamura's 1st ever 1-on-1 Match on Raw, as his previous matches on the show have been Battle Royals, Tag Team, & last week's Triple Threat Match.
Shinsuke Nakamura VS The Miz was an awesome match. It was the 2nd 1-on-1 match between them as Nakamura def Miz to retain the IC Title at Clash of Champions on 9/15/19. And Miz continues his losing streak. He hasn't won since he defeated Dexter Lumis on 12/19/22.
It really sucks that Liv Morgan got hurt. I hope she recovers quickly. Raquel Rodriguez VS Chelsea Green could be good. Chelsea & Sonya are great together.
I love Akira Tozawa walking in the opposite direction when Imperium was walking down the hallway. And it's not GUNTHER's Raw debut. Stop that crap now.
Incredible segment with Seth Rollins. I love all of the historic footage.
Great entrance & promo by GUNTHER.
What a Battle Royal. Mostly everyone had a chance to shine. I loved all of the set-ups for potential feuds & matches like Ziggler VS McDonagh. I wanted Johnny Gargano to win since I read that he & GUNTHER wrestled over the weekend. Mustafa Ali was a shocker, but he VS GUNTHER could be fun. By the way, it wasn't Von Wagner's main roster debut as he wrestled in loss to Sheamus on Smackdown on April 10, 2020 & he's been on Main Event several times, but it is his Raw debut, making him the 1st Bloom to wrestle on Raw since his dad was part of The Beverly Brothers in a loss to Money Inc. on April 19, 1993. It was Apollo Crews' 1st Raw since he & Commander Azeez lost to Omos on March 21, 2022. Also, this was JD McDonagh or Xyon Quinn's main roster debut as they have wrestled on Main Event, but it is their RAW debut. Quinn did wrestle on Smackdown in a loss to Sheamus as Daniel Vidot on April 24, 2020.
Good video on Cody Rhodes VS Brock Lesnar.
Did anyone notice Paul Heyman talking to The Judgment Day while Becky Lynch was walking?
Tremendous promo by Becky Lynch. I didn't like Trish Stratus' promo last week. But Becky got me fired up for Night of Champions.
Solid segment with Rhea Ripley & Natalya to set-up their match.
Uh oh, we're getting Xavier Woods VS Dominik Mysterio for the 2nd week in a row. Vince must be booking. Triple H doesn't do re-matches. LOL.
Stupid segment with Mustafa Ali, Chad Gable, & Otis, but good segment with Ali & GUNTHER.
Xavier Woods VS Dominink Mysterio was a really good match. I wouldn't mind a 3rd match between them in the near future.
Cool video on JD McDonagh. Good promo by him too. Ziggler VS McDonagh could be a great match. I spied Finn Balor during that segment too. Interesting.
Please no, not another Enhancement Match. Lat week was Omos Now, it's going to be Indus Sher.
Horrible match with Indus Sher. This was Veer's 1st match on Raw since he defeated a local wrestler on August 15, 2022. It was Sanga's 1st match on the main roster since they & Drew McIntyre defeated Jinder Mahal & The Bollywood Boyz at Superstar Spectacle on January 26, 2021.
Fun segment with Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn & Imperium. I guess KO & Sami's partner will be Riddle since he had issues with Imperium during the Battle Royal.
Damn another goosebump-worthy promo by Cody Rhodes. Where was this Cody several years ago when he was in WWE before?
Good segment with Zoey Stark, Nikki Cross, & Candice LeRae to set-up LeRae VS Stark next week, but what happened to Nikki stalking Candice? All of a sudden they're friends?
Raquel Rodriguez VS Chelsea Green was pretty good. It was a good way to showcase Raquel. But, damn it, Ronda Rousey has recovered from her injury so her & Shayna Baszler are back.
GUNTHER & Paul Heyman shaking hands was very intriguing. And it's a little weird too given the history of GUNTHER's name & Heyman's heritage.
Another great segment with Seth Rollins. I guess Friday we will get the same treatment for AJ Styles. It makes things special when they meet at Night of Champions.
Another good video package, this time on Apollo Crews. At least we're not getting visions from his eye.
Before going any further, I have to give props to Samantha Irvin. She has been amazing announcing Raw tonight. Next week's Raw looks like another good one.
I just realized that one of the NXT Call-Ups was missing from the Battle Royal earlier, Odyssey Jones. I wonder what happened to him.
If Vince was booking Raw tonight, the match would have ended in a DQ & then re-started as a 6-Man with Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, & Xavier Woods VS The Judgment Day. What is Paul Heyman doing there?
Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn VS The Judgment Day was a phenomenal match. I love everyone gunning for KO & Sami. I don't mind Judgment Day winning since it puts them in line for the next title match after Night of Champions.
Here are my RAW Match Rankings:
1) Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn VS The Judgment Day
2) Shinsuke Nakamura VS The Miz
3) The IC Title #1 Contender's Battle Royal
4) Xavier Woods VS Dominik Mysterio
5) Raquel Rodriguez VS Chelsea Green
6) Local Wrestlers VS Indus Sher
Another unbelievable Raw. From the 1st second of the opening segment to the last second of the main event, I loved everything except for the return of Ronda Rousey, but that's a personal thing and has nothing to do with wrestling.
