That’s…not a terrible idea for a gap between the two blocks. Especially since this has been something CNs in other countries have done for years, Japan and South America in particular.

Nickelodeon needs to do this, they won't, but that variety would be welcomed
People's hot takes about how AS taking over 6PM killing CN as a whole aren't aging well tbh, this shows AS actually gives more of a shit and wants to show classics and vary up the schedule
I pray this goes over better than when they attempted Cartoon Planet

So how long does this checkered past thing last before it turns to Family Guy reruns? I'll give it by December.

So how long does this checkered past thing last before it turns to Family Guy reruns? I'll give it by December. I mean, Family Guy isn’t going to air back on Adult Swim anytime soon for one but, well, if people watch the block it’ll likely stick around? Also, I think it honestly makes more sense to put stuff like Unicorn and My Adventures with Superman and make it a YA bridge between that and AS but, again, that’s just me. EDIT: That’s only if you replace Checkered Past but I think this might have some legs if they shake up the variety of shows on there. Put on Mike, Lu and Og and Whatever Happened to Robot Jones every so often, why not?

I actually don't mind this now if they're putting old CN shows in the slot.

Eventually, Cartoon Network will start to pull shows like Uncle Grandpa and Problem Solverz out of that filthy black bucket of despair to try and fill the ever expanding time frames. Look, I'm just saying they have to run out of stuff eventually, and then just know that I'm waiting for them to give me a call because I have a notebook full of award-winning ideas to use.

All the bumpers from the first Checkered Past block. Digging the presentation, a good link between CN and the main Adult Swim block. If it does well, I'll be intrigued to see how it'll work to put more shows in like if some shows are for certain days and the like. Speaking of the bumpers themselves, Geoff Valent, one of the main people behind the CN City bumpers from the 2000s and a "preserver" of the bumpers on their Vimeo account, had this interesting fact about how these bumpers are what CN City could have looked like.

Cartoon Network is pretty much in its death throes anymore, there's nothing left there. Going full SeeFee

Adult Swim has been its own channel in Canada for quite awhile now, how has that not happened in the US?

Adult Swim has been its own channel in Canada for quite awhile now, how has that not happened in the US? Probably just not deemed financially practical given the audience it aims at, though legally it and Cartoon Network actually are separate channels.

Interestingly enough, Adult Swim is in fact coming back to Latin America as a 24/7 Channel Curious if they're considering it.

The vibe for this is terrific, it's the best thing they've actually done in years Curious if this is a test to also see if some of these shows should eventually get greenlit and renewed for more seasons, but on Adult Swim instead. The ratings will be telling.

tl;dr: Checkered Past, along with other shows on Adult Swim, is a big hit.
