Wasn't the infamous 'Fonzie jumps the shark' episode just a repeat of the 'Fonzie jumps cars in the parking lot of Arnold's' episode, but on water?

Matlock, Perry Mason movies and Diagnosis Murder had the same creator or producer so they all had similar premises with the mystery themes. Just off the top of my head there were a few overlaps, season 1 Matlock and early year Mason had the same song play in any bar scene. Both shows had an episode with Larry Wilcox where he played a prisoner released on parole but winding back up in prison, accused of a new murder. DM and Matlock had Terry O'Quinn playing a killer who told both Matlock and Mark Sloan that he would be killing someone and they had to solve the murder. I know there's other shows, not related to each other with similar storylines but can't remember off hand.
Frasier did have the episode where a gay man thought Niles was gay and then, Patrick Stewart's character thought Frasier was gay.

I don't know if this counts but I lost track of how many times the overarching plot in Supernatural was one of the brothers has a dark secret and the other one knows and the first brother knows that the second knows but won't admit it. Then there's an episode seemingly designed to drive home how they need to trust each other and be honest, but when given the chance, the brother with the secret chooses not to reveal it, thus losing the trust of the other brother. For such codependent brothers they spend far too much of that series not trusting each other.

As much as I love them, a lot of Pixar plots are ‘something is missing/where it shouldn’t be and needs to be returned to its rightful place.’ Up Toy Story 1 and 2. Which, to begin with, recycled the plot of Jim Henson's The Christmas Toy.

Pretty much every episode of Fawlty Towers is that someone has a secret, resulting in chaos abounding either from them trying to keep it, or Basil trying to expose it.

it seems like every 90's sitcom had the exact same B plot with billiards. Kinda nerdy character is assumed to be bad at pool, is actually pool shark, and the live studio audience claps and "wooos". Fresh Prince is the only time that subplot ever worked for me.

On the subject, Boy Meets World did this so much they even made fun of themselves for it in the "Eric Goes to Hollywood" episode.

There's an episode of My Three Sons from 1965 with this plot as well. I'd post footage but I can't seem to find any online. That's the earliest I can find of a television show using the sub-plot, although I'd be shocked if there are no earlier ones out there.

Yup, cause James Avery looked like a B-O-S-S shooting pool. James Avery was a boss, period. So much of Fresh Prince simply wouldn't have worked without Avery.

I think Frasier had two separate episodes that repeated plots - one where a gay character was interested in one of the leads and another where several people on a camping trip and were all interested in someone else’s partner....but nobody was interested in Frasier. At least the redo had the brilliant segment where Martin pretends Niles is his boyfriend to scare off the suitor.

I seem to remember Hey Arnold and Recess had episode where a character became paranoid over germs, wearing a Hazmat suit etc.
Sid in the former and Gus in the latter.

Not to mention how a vast majority of Pixar movies are, "Wacky mismatched road trip." See also how like 90% of Dreamworks movies are just Rudolph.

The third episode of Star Trek TNG was a rehash of TOS' The Naked Time. It was even called The Naked Now!

A Warner Bros. animated short featuring Bugs Bunny and a Tom & Jerry.. and I think maybe another .. had similar plot line
Featured Bugs and Tom giving a grand piano recital while wacky hijinks ensue..
The obvious similarity is the choice of music. Franz Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody.. Funfact: also what Daffy and Donald Duck are playing in Who Framed Roger Rabbit

The third episode of Star Trek TNG was a rehash of TOS' The Naked Time. It was even called The Naked Now! TNG had a lot of accusations of just recycling TOS plots in the first season. It wasn't until the 3rd season or so that they started having consistently good episodes. I could be wrong on this but that might be around the time Roddenbarry began playing less of a role?
