USA potentially losing USA and NXT is sort of wild. RAW’s been the thing keeping the network going at times, NXT’s been doing really well lately and there’s no guarentee Smackdown will fill either void on a different day. It’s really bizarre.

It'd be pretty wild if RAW and NXT wound up on Disney/ESPN or FX or something.

It'd be pretty wild if RAW and NXT wound up on Disney/ESPN or FX or something. It would have to be FX. Remember when USA would move Raw for the dog show or tennis? That was 3 out of 52 weeks a year. On ESPN, that would be happening all the time.

So if the WSJ number is accurate, it looks like they got a roughly 37% increase in rights fees for RAW. I saw some reporting that they were hoping to get $300 million a year and ended up getting close with $280 million a year.

I’m not too familiar with the ESPN range of channels, would there be any of them that would be as attractive or accessible to viewers as the mainline one?

I think Amazon Prime is the main player to look for when it comes to Raw/NXT…
Honestly, I’m surprised NBC didn’t put Smackdown on NBC proper considering that is usually a throwaway night for them…

That is true. I’m not too familiar with the ESPN range of channels, would there be any of them that would be as attractive or accessible to viewers as the mainline one? ESPN2 does the Manningcast in conjunction with Monday Night Football, so nope… Yeah, in that case FX seems logical.

To play conspiracy theorist for a moment, WBD isn’t including AEW in the Bleacher Report live sports coverage tier on Max launching next month, is it possible they’re a secret bidder?

Not something to rule out (WWE did try and bait them into a bid) but I also think they always had them down as entertainment so it’d make 100% sense not to. And also, they wouldn’t be allowed to have it be a secret because shareholders and such. Now the interesting thing would be if the new deal has them reclassified as sports so it can easily be on Max and BR.

Yes, it's very much possible. For all the talk of WWE ratings stagnating, AEW's ratings aren't much better, with Dynamite and Collision largely stagnating, and Rampage being meme tier terrible now.

If RAW moves off of Monday nights, AEW should immediately push to move Collison or Rampage there in primetime. Monday is wrestling night for a lot of people. Just take it.

AEW can't move onto Mondays. The Khans own an American football team, and it would be a pretty blatant conflict of interest and against the NFL team owner agreement to counterprogram league games. There's a reason why Dynamite and Collision are on the days they currently are. It's because they are the only two days where NFL rarely (if ever) runs games.

I mean, if you’re going to ignore that USA and TNT/TBS would (and have before) tell you demos are the important thing and two of those shows are top 3 of their nights on their respective networks, sure, you can say that.

I mean they're likely expanding PPVs to one each month which will occasionally go against Sunday Night Football. Plus the NFL has started expanding to Saturday night games which will go against Collision. Plenty of NFL owners own other sports franchises and media endeavors that compete against each other. Jonathan Kraft is on the TKO Group Board which has programming currently going against Monday Night Football. I think if push comes to shove, they'll do what is best for AEW and it will be largely fine. The NFL has overlooked far worse.
