Dame Lillard going to the Bucks in a big 3 team trade.
Heat fans in shambles.

Wow, wasn’t expecting the Bucks to be in on Dame. Smart move on their part. Dame only has a couple of years left in him as an elite player but that’s all they need to get Giannis locked up long term.
Blazers obviously make this move because of the picks/swaps but seems kinda underwhelming. Ayton isn’t that good.

Suns essentially gave up Ayton for always injured Nurkic and Grayson Allen.

Blazers obviously make this move because of the picks/swaps but seems kinda underwhelming. Ayton isn’t that good. Ayton is definitely an upgrade over Nurkic, but he's not a huge one. Dame is a much better scorer than Jrue, about the same running the offense, and a giant leap down defensively. We were talking about the Bucks window kind of closing late last season. For a defensive team to lose their best defender for a guy who doesn't play defense is less than ideal. And I know Dame changes their entire offensive dynamic, but they look more like the KD Nets than the Bucks that won the title. Just a team reliant on star power to carry them through all their warts. Bucks I'm not sure get better or worse, but it had to be done for the long-term. You needed guys like Scoot and Sharpe needed the ball to grow and Jrue is such a complimentary offensive player who isn't ball dominant like Dame. He can drive and dish or just spot-up shoot. The picks are probably going to be really good, but not amazing. The Suns come out ok, and really good if Nurkic can stay healthy. But he's about as likely to stay healthy as Zion is to play half a season, so don't bet on it going well. But Book and KD having a big to board and rim defend and put in easy buckets like the GS bigs is the perfect role for his skill set.

Jrue Holiday is clearly going to get flipped to another team, but ironically it feels like Miami might be the best fit as a trade partner (other than possible salary-matching issues)

It really seems like the Blazers went in a different direction then most superstar trades. Well they still wanted picks it feels like getting a young player who has already had at least some success in the league was more important than getting as many picks as possible. Then when you consider their three highest ceiling young players are all guards it's not surprising they prefer a deal where they get Ayton rather than a Miami deal centered around Herro even if I'm personally not super high on Ayton. If that's the case it wouldn't surprise me if they don't try to find a young forward in whatever subsequent Holiday trade they make in order to try to end up with 4/5 of their long term starting lineup alongside Jerami Grant as the slightly older veteran that can hold that last starting spot for now.

Now let's see how Daryl Morey as the market has been established for a disgruntled star.
He should at least aim for 75% of the value Portland got for Dame.

Phoenix got better without Ayton
Nurk and Allen is going to fit the team well
Dame has to stay healthy but now you have a closer next to Giannis that isn't Middleton

So possibly expect Jrue to land somewhere else Boston was a rumored spot I am guessing 76ers will call to see if they can get him included in a 3 team trade. Harden can get to the Clips, Jrue to Philly and pieces back to Portland

Now the Heat fans know how Knick fans felt a year ago, an arrogant front office wiffed on getting the deal done.

I'd like to see Jrue go to the Clippers. They're (when healthy) a very high-end defensive team so he fits like a glove.

He knew Portland was playing hardball (similar to Jazz with Mitchell) and saud f*** it I will stay with what I got
