So Wemby had 27 pts but was still -31 +/-. That's quite an accomplishment, really. Feels like he tries too much sometimes, bro needs to slow it down a little bit. Especially when he just lets the passes fly. It sounds that Pop is still letting Wemby play how he wants before starting to make plans for him. However, the young younglings looked fine last night but their issue lies on consistency.

It is going to take Wemby probably half to a full season to get really adjusted to the NBA games but he's shown the flashes oh yeah he's going to be good
He can realistically finish with 20 points 10 rebs, 2 blocks and a steal in his rookie year. With the potential to have much higher upside than that, you take that all day

First thing in offseason I am doing this is sending Wemby to the greats
I am sure they got Duncan and Robinson coming in to teach him
Obviously send him to Hakeem. No matter what Gilbert Arenas says, 50k is chump change for players to take that jump in their game knowing what Hakeem has taught has worked

Spurs have zero expectations for this season, so it's going to be all about letting Wemby and the other young players get their minutes and develop.

Especially when he just lets the passes fly. This season is a building year for him, so let it fly. Short-term production doesn't really matter. +/- doesn't really matter. Pop is trying to make sure him, Vassell, Sochan, etc gel going forward. The ball is going to be in his hands a lot in the coming years, gotta start getting comfortable with it now. He'll grow as a passer, which is his weakness. His defense is already there, his scoring is already there, his rebounding will be better going forward, his handle is already really good for a guy his size.

Having said that, don't listen to any advice that man has. I don't care if The Dream asks 2 million dollars. It's a drop in the bucket of what Wemby is going to produce for the Spurs, so you swallow that cost. Hakeem is the godfather of modern day big footwork. Also try and get him with KG, who is the biggest face-up big man in the modern era. Started all these positionless bigs. Get him working on the midrange. The fade. Crossovers. Passing. Spare no expense.

Considering the great Power Forward/Centers that had been around the last 20 years, you basically got him on tour to see everyone. Dirk for the back to the basket fade, KG for the face up, Dream for the footwork, Duncan/Robinson for the fundamentals. Hell, if you can get Dennis to sit still get him to come in to teach him the science of rebounding

Shit for that matter Kevin "I swear I didn't tell Tim Duncan Happy Mothers Day" Garnett wouldn't either Tho KG loves the game

I've got faith that Pop and the Spurs legends will do him right, I'm looking forward to seeing him reach his full potential, however long it takes.

He's going to average 20 and 10 as a rookie which for me is more than I expected. I thought if he got 15 and 7 that is a fine rookie season to build on. 20 and 10 coming out the gate while you learning already is putting you with some of the best in the game He will clean up things such as efficiency, turnovers etc as the time goes on. Being a Jokic type game changer is not outside the realm in a few years

There are Spurs fans out there that want the offense to revolve around Wemby in the "give the ball to Wemby and get out of the way" kind of things, saying that Jeremy Sochan and Keldon Johnson are trying to sabotage him while Pop should get fired because he's wasting Wemby's talent. Fancying for Isiah Collier to save the team while essentially giving up on the season is a weird take... but some are going for it.

Crazy how Michelle Beadle went from ESPN to Bally Southwest. Got dropped for Rachel Nichols and Maria Taylor and ain’t neither of them around there anymore either.

Klay Thompson in the clutch continues to be the most hilarious/depressing disaster going right now. This man is taking shots in Overtime like he bet on OKC before the game.

Did we lose to the worst team in the league…or did they beat the worst team in the league? 🤔

And I'm sure Robinson will probably give him some bulking muscle tips.
