SATURDAY NIGHT'S ALL RIGHT FOR FIGHTING... AND VOTING! Another new weekly Poll for AEW Fans as I hopefully can do this most every week, if not, we'll see if I can get some people to fill in some times, Saturday's a more busy day for me, usually, but either way, it's time to see how AEW's second Prime Time two hour show does... it's time to RATE THE COLLISION!
------ 2023
6/17: 7.91 (20% DW) 6/24: 7.92 (16% DW) 7/1: TBD

It was a good show but Collision really needs that big "this is why you watch" angle for me, it felt like we're closer with the Punk/Cole/Roddy/Joe tension at the end but I don't feel like this show has that like HUGE must see angle yet and that'd do wonders for this show's identity.

The quality is there, they're just developing feuds I will say anything the feral Bullet Club are doing I'm there, these dudes rule.

Going with a 10 - awesome show top to bottom. Love the feel of the show.

This one gets a great EIGHT from me. All the matches were good and felt like they had a purpose, and I loved the Bullet Club Gold promo. I would agree that the show is missing that kind of heated storyline to make it a must-see though. They've been planting seeds and I'm ready for some of them to blossom into something a little more 'high stakes'.

Yeah, it feels like its getting closer and closer to get that must see story, and it helps that the Owen tournament is ending in 2 weeks, we just need to have some patience.

Is Punk heel turn that heated story the show needs? Like this will happen eventually but not sure when.

Hard show to rate, high 7 maybe just about an 8? Loved Ethan's promo, enjoyed the match that followed, loved Hobbs/Dustin and then everything else was pretty good from there, though basically every match I'd have liked another couple of minutes. Crowd let the show down, as was also the case on Dynamite, even a show without as many good matches as last night can feel like a huge deal with a hot crowd, ones like last night just drag it down, when they're not reacting to false finishes or big spots or getting any chants to catch on it's a real bummer. Thought it was interesting seeing Punk in the ring with Cole at the end there, wasn't expecting him to be so close to someone who's friends with the Elite quite so soon 🤣.

Hobbs should have won in 2 minutes, right?

Hobbs should have won in 2 minutes, right? Eh, Dustin's no pushover, he goes to the limit with like everyone and has never been squashed

Hobbs should be star, not having to cheat in 10 minutes to beat Cody's brother Kinda think that's the point, he's over-relying on QTV and the point will likely be they cost him The Owen or something and he turns on them/he feuds with them and Johnny TV I think the point is he's leaning way too hard into having a group and needs to realize he can do this shit himself, and doesn't need QT Marshall

Didn't watch yet, but the Ethan Page promo seemed good.

7 seems fair. The downside of doing a new show and trying to keep it feeling different from Dynamite is you have to build things back up... especially with some of the featured talent for this brand being off tv for so long.
I appreciate again how different the show feels but also have to acknowledge that it's gonna take some time to really find it's footing

Finally caught up on this show; I'm going to say 7/10
I really like the aesthetic, the pacing, the focus on a smaller section of the roster, and the overall different feel to Dynamite, but I didn't find any of the matches too great, and the in-ring promo segment went way too long. Commentary is still...awful. Sorry Kev Kel, your style isn't meshing with AEW tv for me and him and Nigel have negative chemistry.
I just don't care about Ethan Page, either. Nice guy, love his toy blogs, but I'll never see him as more than just a 'decent' wrestler and promo. And can not get excited for a Shawn Spears push, even if its just while they're in Canada.

Caught up on last week’s and this week’s episodes since my girlfriend wanted to watch em.
There’s very little that’s technically bad about Collision thus far, but it’s difficult for me to get invested in any of it. All the stuff I should theoretically like is tainted in some way.
House of Black is feuding with an inexplicably face Andrade, with zero mention of the other Faccion Ingobernable members, in a feud that’s had fun matches but is marred by DQ finishes and a Wyatt-esque sense of directionlessness.
Miro gets rewarded for refusing to show up to work by getting booked as the unbeatable monster he apparently always wants to be without the slightest fear he might lose.
Jay White is doing exactly what I was afraid he’d be doing in WWE, leading a stable of jobbers while feeling nothing like the incredible scumbag heel he was in New Japan, though it doesn’t help that he’s trapped in the massive suck vortex of Punk and FTR.
And speaking of Phil and his lapdogs, if you’d have told me a year ago they’d be bigger anti-draws for me than the goddamn Ass Boys, I’d have thought you were delusional.
Statlander vs Lady Frost was pretty solid though, as was Roddy vs Joe when I was able to tune out the commentary, and Ethan Page cut a very good promo.
5/10

Statlander vs Lady Frost was pretty solid though, as was Roddy vs Joe when I was able to tune out the commentary, and Ethan Page cut a very good promo. 5/10 House of Black/Andrade I don't feel is completely directionless because Malakai has been calling back to NXT days. Andrade as a face I think has been working because he's been busting out crazy offense and giving the crowd a reason to care in his matches to overcome. The DQ finish is what it is, AEW doesn't do it often, and yes Andrade needs some friends, but LFI are heels right now, so if he gets some, maybe the Lucha Bros would make more sense. I won't call it Wyatt Aimless just yet as it's been three weeks, but I do get he needs to find some backup, he's facing three guys by himself. Miro should be doing this imo, I get the weird drama of his last year but Miro is a god damn destroyer, maybe one of the best jobber squasher I've ever seen, and he should go on a tear where he doesn't lose for a bit. I would honestly have him be the one that dethrones Orange, As for Jay White, I disagree with this the most. Bullet Club Gold is must see TV for me and these guys aren't exactly presented as Jobbers. Gunn Club just beat The Hardys, they as a collective just beat Punk's group two weeks ago, and Jay White has yet to be pinned himself. They together collectively are a cocaine fueled barrel of insanity for me that I can't wait to see more of. I think they need a big hoss to really tie the group together, and idk what Jay would have done if he were signed to WWE, but I can say, personally, I am on the Bang Bang Gang wagon. Just some of my own thoughts, sucks you aren't enjoying a lot of the Collision stuff, I get it if you don't like Punk and FTR (Really enjoyed Punk in ring since he came back so far myself) so it is what it is, just like to try and give you some hope about things going forward yknow?
