I'm almost positive that Becky vs. Trish is happening in Canada because of Edge's retirement match being announced for that show a year in advance followed by Edge literally not doing enough to make retiring this month be even remotely fulfilling. I wish it was on PPV but that's probably why.

Surprised that Becky vs. Trish is not on the show as it was one of the big feuds on Raw the last few months.

In that order. I think the build for Roman/Jey could have been better. Build for Rico/Paul has sucked but the match’ll prbly be must-watch stuff.

Not really hyped for Seth/Finn but I am curious if Finn takes the title. Overall, agreed. Surprised how cold I am to SummerSlam.

I think Priest cashing in like Seth at Mania during the climax of the match will be the big moment on the card...otherwise, this card looks kinda boring to me...

It’s one of the most slimline cards I’ve seen from WWE. If we didn’t have this battle royal, we’d only have 15 people booked, which is nuts for a roster size that is well past 100.

I feel like the reason is a lot of these matches are likely going to go pretty long.

- Battle Royals always go for a decent length of time (15+ minutes on average)

- Cody/Lesnar will be the shortest match on the card (probably less than 10 minutes if its a standard Brock match)

- Shayna/Ronda will likely be the second shortest match on the card (probably 15 minutes or so)

And then after that, the matches left will likely run for a decent period of time:

- Logan/Ricochet will probably be at least 20 minutes

- Gunther/Drew will likely be 25+ minutes

- Seth/Balor will easily go past 25+ minutes, not counting a potential MITB cash in.

- Asuka/Bianca/Charlotte will likely go at least 20 minutes, not factoring in whatever happens post match as Iyo has pretty much called her shot and declared she is going to cash in at Summerslam on last week's Smackdown.

- Roman/Jey will go long just because Roman's entrance on PLEs are always long, on top of this being a "Tribal Combat" match. Whatever that might mean. So I'll give it 30 minutes.

And that's not factoring in whatever downtime segments we might have to deal with. So not counting additional downtime segments or potential MITB stuff, we will likely be looking at 160 minutes at least if we go by my estimates are correct, which is just under three hours. If you add in the segments, it'll probably be closer to 3-3.5 hours depending on what they have planned. And that's not factoring in video packages or entrances either.

Given HHH doesn't like going over 3 hours for PPVs, I'm assuming:

Battle Royal - 10 mins
cody/Lesnar - 10 mins
Shayna/Ronda - 5 mins
logan/Ricochet - 10 mins
Gunther/Drew - 15 mins
Seth/Balor - 15 mins
Asuka/Bianca/Charlotte - 15 mins
Roman/Jey 30 mins

Which is 2 hours of in-ring time. Add in entrances, commercials, and WWE time wasting and that feels on the money.

It reminds me of last year's SummerSlam, where the card didn't look great on paper but it ended up being one of the best shows of the year.

Yeah Becky and Trish seem to be very annoyed by being left of SS going by their social media. They’re not being shy about it.

Rhea has liked stuff complaining about it as well.

Similar to Summerslam 2002, which had 7 singles matches and a tag.

Yeah, I remember dreading the Bianca versus Becky and Brock versus Roman rematches but they turned out great.

I'm working on my SummerSlam Preview & did some research that I had to share immediately. SummerSlam will be Roman Reigns' 1st Defense since WrestleMania marking 126 Days between Defenses, which is the Longest Gap between Universal Title Defenses since Brock Lesnar (Greatest Royal Rumble (4/27/18) - SummerSlam (8/19/98), 115 Days.) It will be the 1st time in WWE History that that WWE Championship will not be defended in over 100 Days.
