Or the Banana Splits movie we got a couple years ago. I had to look this up-it completely flew under my radar. With this, and Winnie The Pooh, etc. What is it with people taking children's characters and turning them into killers? Seriously? You'd have to be a pretty warped and twisted individual to make Winnie the Pooh a mass murderer.

I'm assuming this is Barney the dinosaur and not either of Fred Flintstone's or Homer Simpson's friends? Don't cry for me, I'm already dead.

I know I sound like a miserable old grump but I kind of wish they'd leave kids' shows alone. It's weird for sure. I can understand and even tolerate constant nostalgia plays, but updating something for a modern audience and trying to spin it for adults is really strange.

It's piggy backing on the creepy pasta trend of writing horror stories about something innocent--creepy pastas about stuff like Disney, McDonald's Chuck E Cheese and things are all pretty popular. I am surprised it took Hollywood this long to jump onto the trend to be honest.

Isn’t “dark and gritty Barney movie” just Death to Smoochy? Or the Banana Splits movie we got a couple years ago. To be fair, I though the Banana Splits one was fun. Winnie the Pooh ... utter shit. Winnie the Pooh made the mistake of having Pooh and Piglett eat Eeeyore off screen, rather than actually show it. If they showed it, the movie would have been infamous. One of Hollywood's biggest dropped balls since not giving Kane a six foot penis in See No Evil.

Yep There are some decent stories in the genre (Abandoned By Disney is a great story ... the sequels, not so much). But it is cluttered with absolute dross along the lines of "video tape of an unreleased episode that had an image of a dead body in it!" or "Chuck E Cheese animatronic comes alive!" The best Barney creepypasta I read was one about a supposed "haunted" Barney doll that spoke to this little girl. At the ending it turned out, there was some speaker or other device inserted into the Barney doll that a pedofile was using to lure the kid out of the house. Very disturbing and a nice twist on the trope.

What else could they do this too? The Teletubbies maybe? I never watched that show so I don't know how that would go exactly. Bananas In Pajamas? Bear In The Big Blue House? I mean, that Bear is already pretty terrifying.
