This shouldn't have main evented over Tatum vs. Fallon Fallon is one of the few autos I still need for my NXT collection. After I got Tiffany this week(which I got a steal for and still paid a fortune), it's her, Thea & Bron are the only big names I need. |

Before getting to Smackdown, I would like to apologize. Upon doing my Facts & Stats for Raw today, I realized that I was wrong. At Money In The Bank, I said that Cody Rhodes was the 1st wrestler to wrestle a Father & Son on PPV in 1-on-1 Matches. But, I was wrong. Seth Rollins did it in the same year, when he wrestled Rey at Extreme Rules & Dominik at SummerSlam in 2020. Also, I found out that The Undertaker wrestled Irwin R. Schyster (Royal Rumble 1995) & Bray Wyatt (WM 31). So, MITB was the 3rd time that it happened. I should have done more research before posting.
Here are my Smackdown Thoughts:
Incredible recap of The Bloodline Civil War.
That sign in the crowd is giving me problems. They spelled Jey's name wrong. If you are going to a WWE Show & are making a sign to put on TV, you should know how to spell the wrestlers' names correctly.
I love the crowd singing along to The Usos' Theme. Wow. They're opening with The Trial. I thought this would close Smackdown, but what we have seen so far with Paul Heyman & Solo Sikoa & The Usos was great.
I still don't understand why Roman Reigns wears Chili Peppers around his neck.
The crowd ruined it by cursing and everything was muted.
Wow. Roman Reigns gave Jey Uso the Chili Peppers. Roman's a great actor. Solo Sikoa was good too when he was looking at the Peppers. And Paul Heyman with his incredible reactions. Then the beatdown was great but it dragged. I love The Bloodline storyline, but it shouldn't have taken 40 minutes out of a 2-hour show.
Enough with the Entertainment. I want the Wrestling portion of World Wrestling Entertainment.
It's BS That Sheamus didn't get an entrance.
Sheamus VS Austin Theory was a great match. I'm glad it got time with 2 commercial breaks, but then it was ruined by a stupid finish with The Brawling Brutes & Pretty Deadly. A Veteran like Sheamus shouldn't be distracted & hit the Brogue Kick on someone else instead of his opponent. Sheamus VS Theory was the 1st Televised US Title Match from MSG since John Cena defeated Seth Rollins at WWE Live from MSG on 10/3/15, 1st on TV since The Miz def MVP on Raw on 11/16/09 & 1st on Smackdown since MVP def Ziggler on 5/1/09. VS Sheamus was Theory's 10th Defense, which is the Most US Title Defenses since Damian Priest lost to Finn Balor on Raw on 2/28/22 in his 13th Defense. As of Smackdown, Theory's US Title Reign has lasted 223 Days. Tomorrow, he will tie The Miz's 1st Reign (10/5/09-5/17/10, 224 Days) for the 4th Longest Reign of All-Time below Dean Ambrose (5/19/13-5/5/14, 351 Days), MVP's 1st Reign (5/20/07-4/27/08, 343 Days), Shelton Benjamin (7/20/08-3/20/09, 243 Days), & Cesaro (8/19/12-4/15/13, 239 Days) For the Record: The US Title has changed hands 3 times in MSG: Cena def The Big Show (3/14/04 WM XX), Styles def Owens (7/7/17 Live Event), & Andrade def Mysterio (12/26/19 Live Event).
Cool highlights of MSG Moments.
Technically Grayson Waller has had a match on the Main Roster. He defeated Akira Tozawa on Main Event on 11/24/22. But other than that, a very good segment. It was the best Waller Effect since Grayson debuted on Smackdown because of Edge. What a week for Waller. He interacted with John Cena at MITB & then Edge 6 days later on Smackdown.
Great another talking segment with Asuka.
OK, no talking, just Asuka, Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, IYO SKY, & Bayley fighting. I love IYO teasing to cash in, but it wouldn't have counted if Bayley handed the MITB Briefcase to the ref. That's what happened with The Miz & John Morrison handing the briefcase to the ref.
Edge VS Grayson Waller was an awesome match. I love the finish. And it's no big deal that Waller lost his Smackdown debut. He lost to a Hall of Famer & former Multi-time Champion in MSG. He will be OK.
And now The Bloodline has to close the show after hogging the spotlight for the 1st 40 minutes.
Cool. Asuka VS Bianca next week, but Charlotte & Damage CTRL will probably interfere.
OK. I love that segment. I get why they did what they did at the beginning of the show, even if it did take 40 minutes. It will get us to Jey Uso VS Roman Reigns at SummerSlam, which will be the 1st time 2 cousins wrestled each other at SummerSlam since The Undertaker & the Fake Undertaker in 1994.

Fallon Henley VS Tatum Paxley was OK. This was Henley's 1st Singles win since she defeated Kiana James on NXT on 12/27/22.
Kale Dixon's promo was horrible.
SCRYPTS VS Kale Dixon was really good. SCRYPTS is better without out his mask.

Smackdown wasn't the greatest this week at first, as the opening promo went way too long, taking away from the actual wrestling on the show, but the last half of the show made up for it. So, it's a mixed bag for me. Level Up was good.
