Two weeks ago, I got out of the hospital.

I spent 12 days in the ICU. It all started with a severe headache and irritated sinuses. Which I mistakenly took for a sinus infection. This started on June 2nd. And on June 4th, after not being able to contact me, my dad called my aunt, who lives close by, and she and my uncle rushed over, to find me sitting on my kitchen floor, drenched in sweat, and babbling incoherently about stuff from 20+ years ago like they were current events. They immediately called an ambulance, and the next I knew, I awoke in a hospital bed.

Basically, I had developed a benign growth on my sinuses, that burst and cause a severe infection. But a bit of brain surgery and sinus maitenence and I’m back home and on the mend. I’m still on a bunch of meds. But if all goes well, I should be off them by the end of the month.

All said, I’m very lucky. My dad knew that I’m  very prompt about returning phone calls. Maybe it was parent's intuition, but he suspected something wasn’t right, and that may have saved my life.

Thanks for all the kind words and well wishes, everyone. I didn’t know if I wanted to post about this. I’ve always tried to bring a lighthearted vibe, to the board, and this definitely isn’t that. But this placdce is like a second home to me and I just wanted to get it off my chest.

As for medical details, eventhe doctors were somewhat stymied by what exactly went wrong with me. At first, they thought meningitis. But luckily that wasn’t the cas. They’re pretty sure it was a benign tumor that burst and caused on hell of an infection. And affected my thyroid. Which I’m taking medicine for. They thought it might affect certain reproductive functions, but thankfully isn’t the case. I’ve had a myriad of doctor appointments that were all positive. And I have some more in a few weeks. Hopefully those go well, too. And I can begin to put this behind me.
