Here are my Smackdown Thoughts:
Where was the In Memoriam Segment for Mantaur to start Smackdown?
Excellent Bianca Belair promo. Charlotte Flair was OK even when she messed up her line. Belair VS Asuka will be a great main event, though I don't think we're getting a clean finish. Stevie Wonder can see that from a mile away.
Fun segment with The Brawling Brutes. Yes, we're getting a wrestling match at 8:12 (well after the commercial).
The Brawling Brutes VS Pretty Deadly was a fun match. I like the finish with Pretty Deadly cheating and they're still talking about Holland's throat injury.
Good promo by Grayson Waller. He knows The Rock. He played Ric Flair on the 1st Season of Young Rock.
Of course, Asuka VS Bianca Belair is a WrestleMania like main event. They wrestled each other at WrestleMania.
Excellent 5 minute recap of a 40 minute segment that went way too long. Despite the length, The Bloodline continues to be the best storyline in recent WWE History & should have been given Emmy Nominations. No, today marked Roman Reigns' 1048 Day as Universal Champion. He has only been Undisputed WWE Champion for 467 Days.
Interesting segment with Bayley, IYO SKY, & Charlotte Flair.
Damn, the 1st ever 1-on-1 Match between Zelina Vega & Bayley shouldn't be that short. That is utter disrespect for 2 amazing wrestlers. And also Zelina should have been DQ'd for using the slipper.
Shotzi's promo was unbelievable. I'm interested in seeing this new version of her. And props to her for actually shaving her hair in solidarity to her sister who's undergoing chemo treatments.
Damn. A whole hour of Smackdown & we only had like 15 minutes of wrestling. Whatever happened to Smackdown being the wrestling show between Smackdown & Raw?
LOL. WWE taking a page out of AEW's playbook. Multiple nights in Chicago. BTW this is a joke.
Incredible promo by Jey Usos. Paul Heyman was amazing as usual. Solo Sikoa's promo was great. I love the brawl. I love Heyman getting Superkicked. It's very rare that Heyman gets physically involved. Another Cinema Segment.
I love while Bianca Belair, Adam Pearce, & Jessika Carr were talking, Damage CTRL was lurking in the background.
Butch VS Santos Escobar VS AJ Styles VS Grayson Waller was incredible. I love the Triple Power Bomb. I like Karrion Kross attacking The OC to continue his feud with Styles. I like that Escobar won to give him a big win. Waller will be OK for losing 2 matches in a row. Austin Theory was good on commentary.
Next week's 4-Way with Cameron Grimes VS LA Knight VS Rey Mysterio VS Sheamus will be awesome. Grimes & Knight get to rekindle their classic feud for the Million Dollar Championship. No matter who wins, they will have a great match VS Escobar in 2 weeks.
Cool commercial for WWE's return to Nassau Coliseum showing highlights of the original Saturday Night's Main Event.
Interesting.The Street Profits & the returning Bobby Lashley. The seeds for the new Hurt Business has been planted.
Great promos by Rey Mysterio, Cameron Grimes (what happened to his feud with Baron Corbin BTW), & Sheamus.
I love that LA Knight did his promo in front of the crowd, which was great. He's come a long way since his 1st match in WWE as Dick Rick with Jon Moxley in a Handicap Match against The Big Show on Sunday Night Heat.
WWE & their BS History. Asuka was not undefeated. She lost a Battle Royal to Carmella in NXT. Yes, Battle Royals do not count, but a loss is still a loss. How can Bayley, IYO SKY, Charlotte Flair get tickets? They said Smackdown was sold out. It would have been funny if you saw them buying from a scalper outside the arena.
Asuka VS Bianca Belair was great. Like I said earlier, Stevie Wonder, Helen Keller, & Ray Charles could all see the finish from a mile away with Charlotte Flair. But I like IYO SKY trying to cash in but once again Bayley gets in the way.

Here are my Level Up Thoughts:
Damn, they changed Luca Crusifino's theme song. They remade The People's Court Theme. I liked him using the real theme.
Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen VS Luca Crusifino & Kale Dixon was a good match. And for the record, it was Crusifino's 1st ever televised Tag Team Match in NXT.
Solid promo by Lola Vice & Elektra Lopez.
Valentina Feroz VS Lola Vice was really good. Their backgrounds made the match different than a usual women's match in NXT.
Axiom VS Tavion Heights was an excellent wrestling match.

3) Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen VS Luca Crusifino & Kale Dixon
Overall a fun Smackdown. Though we only had 4 matches & 1 of them was really short, the wrestling was good. The non-wrestling segments were all great to set-up SummerSlam, which is shaping up to be another classic. Level Up was good as usual.

I like the detail here of Bayley pushing for IYO to be the one to have to pick Asuka up and push her into the ring and Bayley does not lend a damn helping hand thus basically giving enough time for Asuka to recover and escape.
This is why I think IYO is instead of just trying to take the advantageous route (after still depending on Bayley) that IYO is just gonna call her shot ensuring she can atleast get her chance because this is the circle that we keep well..circling , everytime IYO looks to help or looks for Bayleys help in anyway it just goes tits up for her...but once she casts Bayley aside she finds success.

I’m gonna be so defeated when Roman fxxxing beats Jey. I just can't get emotionally invested in these matches anymore because of the chance Roman wins. I have that Cypher Raige face from that piece of shit After Earth movie when I watch Roman matches now. |
