This is the same company that let THE ROCK’s contract expire in 2004 because of reasons. LMAO And of course hired the wrong one legged wrestler And years before, missed signing Paul Wight before WCW did because they didn't bother to watch the demo tape he sent them. That, or they screwed up and hired Kurrgan instead? I forget how, exactly, the botched it, though supposedly it was specifically Pat Patterson's fault and Vince was absolutely livid.

It's wild that Vince basically tried to tank Hunter and Steph's careers, then he suddenly had a scandal on his hands, then Stephanie was in charge, then Vince came back with no resistance and it all went back to the way it was.
The only one who got burned was Johnny.

...how did someone going get past the Vice President of Talent Relations? On the other hand, this is a company that didn't sign Malakai Black to a main roster deal and kept to his NXT one so was in AEW at 1/3rd of the time it usually would have taken so I'm marking it down as another case of "We fired everyone that would have tracked these things properly during the Pandemic". This is the same company that let THE ROCK’s contract expire in 2004 because of reasons. LMAO Dawg! And wasn't it Johnny ace's fault that they let rock's contract expire? They should've fired that fool decades ago

They should've fired that fool decades ago I think that they blamed Johnny, but the rumor was that Vince thought that the Rock’s movie career would fail and he wanted to prove that no one was bigger than the WWE or some nonsense. I find it hard to believe that they’d just forget that their biggest stars contract was about to expire. LMAO.

It's also a company that let Adam Cole's contract expire by mistake and it only didn't bite them in the ass because Cole wanted to do right by them. Didn't Kyle O'Reilly also do a very short term extension just so he could put over Von Wagner before he left?

They let Jay-ee-double-eff, ha-ha, Jay-ay-double-arr, that's Jeff Jarrett's contract expire, while he was IC-Champion and heavily featured. Sure, they were going to let him go, but he actually reminded them of the exact date, and they still effed up.
So he negotiated himself a nice goodbye bonus.

For some reason, when I heard this song on Sonic Adventure 1 while playing the game at a store back in '99, I thought of the news item about Jarrett and Russo leaving for WCW. (Was I secretly happy about them not being in the WWF anymore? I have no idea.)

LMAO. especially as that at least one account said that Johnny basically cleared his calendar for an entire month before hand to work on it.
