I feel like every RAW main event lately is just variations on this tag match and it's getting old. I get Owens has a broken rib but jesus christ this was such a phoned in RAW overall as far as a Go Home goes. |

It wasn't a bad show, but it was like one of those Universe Mode shows that I just sim through because I want to get to my PPV.

Here are my Raw Thoughts:
Very cool for WWE to recognize the passing of Adrian Street. I hope they do a tribute to Pee Wee Herman later.
Crappy opening segment with Logan Paul & Ricochet. Their match at SummerSlam should be fun, but neither one is great on the mic.
OK promo by the owner of the 3rd Longest Intercontinental Reign of All-Time, GUNTHER. I can't wait for Drew McIntyre GUNTHER at SummerSlam. Matt Riddle VS Ludwig Kaiser should be a good one.
I can't wait to watch the Cody Rhodes Doc on Peacock later this week when I get a chance.
Matt Riddle VS Ludwig Kaiser was an awesome match. Wow, that was only Kaiser's 3rd Singles win in WWE after he defeated Mark Andrews in NXT UK on 12/26/18 & Shinsuke Nakamura on Smackdown on 7/22/22 & 1st ever on Raw.
OK look at Maxxine Dupri & Valhalla getting ready for their match.
Another horrible promo by Logan Paul.
Excellent video package on Cody Rhodes VS Brock Lesnar. Saturday will be Rhodes' 1st SummerSlam since he & Wade Barrett lost to Stephen Amell & Neville in 2015.
Maxxine Dupri VS Valhalla was OK. It wasn't bad for Maxxine's very 1st Singles Match in her Career. It was Valhalla's 1st Singles Match since she was Sarah Logan in a loss to Shayna Baszler on 4/13/20.
Interesting segment with Shinsuke Nakamura & Tommaso Ciampa.
Great segment with The Judgment Day. Great attack by Raquel Rodriguez as Rhea finally gets her comeuppance, but then she still takes out Raquel's knee.
Good video to set-up Shayna Baszler VS Ronda Rousey. At least Lousy Rousey didn't have a live mic. Their MMA Rules Match will be the 1st ever at SummerSlam.
Great segment. Chad Gable VS GUNTHER will be incredible tonight but they said it's going to be a 5-minute challenge, so that's not good.
Shinsuke Nakamura VS Tommaso Ciampa was excellent. I like that they were announced as SummerSlam Battle Royal Participants because I want the entire list announced before SummerSlam. This was the 2nd time that 2 2-time NXT Champions wrestled each other on Raw in 2023. The last time was Balor VS Nakamura on 5/22.
Another good video recap of Jey Uso VS Roman Reigns. The 1st ever Tribal Combat Match at SummerSlam will be amazing.
Damn, poor Raquel Rodriguez She won't be cleared to wrestle Rhea Ripley. Therefore for the 1st time since 2016, there will be only 1 Women's Championship Match at SummerSlam.
Excellent segment. Brock's promo wasn't that good though. I like that Cody went after Brock but he still got laid out as that's what Cody's character is. Cody Rhodes is the 1st time that Brock Lesnar wrestled the same opponent 3 matches in a row since he wrestled Roman Reigns at Mania 34, Greatest Royal Rumble, & SummerSlam in 2018.
Chad Gable VS GUNTHER was fun for those 5 minutes & I'm glad that we're getting more of them. For the record, this will not count as GUNTHER's 1st loss. BTW, it's cool that Cody Rhodes' Cousin Berkley Ottman (Typhoon's son) gets TV Time as the Timekeeper. And then it was amazing when it continued. Let's do it again but this time for the IC Title. By the way, McIntyre VS GUNTHER will be the 1st IC Title Match at SummerSlam since Seth Rollins VS Dolph Ziggler in 2018. . OK segment with Seth Rollins & Sami Zayn. They will be teaming up for the 1st time ever in a 2-on-2 Tag Team Match later tonight VS The Judgment Day.
I can't stand them saying that SummerSlam is having all of these main events. There can only be 1 main event, the final match.
Good promo by Cody Rhodes.
Great Becky Lynch promo. Trish Stratus wasn't that good. And of course we get a 30 second match. At least let them wrestle for 1 segment before Zoey Stark interfered. Horrible segment overall. #
They always put WWE wrestlers on The Today Show during the 3rd hour when I can't watch it since I start work at 9.
Damn, so no Becky Lynch VS Trish Stratus at SummerSlam. They're going to do it on Raw in 2 weeks.
Wow. Lousy Ronda Rousey can't even do a pre-taped promo. She's horrendous. Shayna Baszler was great. I hope SummerSlam will be the final time that we see or hear from Rousey in WWE ever again. Ronda, go play video games on your Twitch & stay on your farm.
I was going to say Damian Priest should cash in his MITB Contract during the match when he has Seth Rollins down & he was going to do that, but that didn't work out. Rollins & Sami Zayn VS Dominik Mysterio & Priest was an amazing main event. Tonight tied Dominik Mysterio's Record for Most Consecutive Weeks on Raw (8/24, 8/31, 9/7, 9/14, 9/21, 9/28, & 10/5/20), which was his 1st 7 weeks on Raw when he debuted & he is the 1st wrestler since Bron Breakker & Dolph Ziggler at Stand & Deliver on April 2 & on Raw on April 4, 2022 to wrestle on NXT PPV & the following week's Raw. Tonight was the 1st time that Damian Priest wrestled 10 weeks in row since 11/22, 11/29, 12/6, 12/13, 12/20, 12/27/21, 1/3, 1/10, 1/17, & 1/24/22, which was the most in his Career.
Oh and I think it's complete BS that there was no mention of Pee Wee Herman at all tonight. Adrian Street never worked for WWE but they had a graphic for him, but Pee Wee who made several appearances on Raw & at WrestleMania & who all of the wrestlers were tweeting about today wasn't mentioned once.

Overall another fun Raw. I loved everything but the Becky/Trish & Zoey Segment. SummerSlam might be the best one ever. I can't wait for Saturday.
