I'm honestly surprised the Natural Disasters aren't in yet. Since they had figures and were in 2k16-18. They should def be in and I'm hoping this year and Fred could do a great speech. I mean, hell, you have Cody there, let him induct his Uncle Fred.

This year is pretty jam packed, especially compared to the last few years so it might have to wait. Someone said there was a rumor Haku was going in. That would have been a nice one but I guess it's not happening.

Talking heads: Mick Foley, Kevin Von Erich, Jim Cornette, Terry's family including Ray Gordy (Jesse)

I was trying to think of when did Foley interact with Gordy when I remembered his month long stint as The Executioner

That thing was ridiculous.[/quote] The mask was pretty bad because it exposed most of his lower face. And it showed that he wasn't very menacing looking. Black Blood's mask in WCW was a bit better.

I was trying to think of when did Foley interact with Gordy when I remembered his month long stint as The Executioner King of the Deathmatch. They had a thumbtack match, which was news to Gordy. Foley was worried about Gordy and said “You better just hit me as hard as you can” Gordy said “You sure?” Foley said yes and Gordy said “Just help me out there” Believe they also crossed paths earlier when Foley was starting out.

Via the podcast this week, Husney said that while there will be a lot of Freebird stuff, this will focus a lot more on Gordy's run in Japan both singles and with Dr. Death

I think Foley told a story about latter day Gordy waiting at a meet and greet for fans to show up and just... barely anybody showing up as well. If any of you have seen that Gordy match, Jesus Christ it is brutal. The powerbombs in that would make me choose to take a Vader one instead

I'm a Terry Gordy fan, but I'm really not looking forward to this. In my mind, I just pretend that Terry died after the overdose.
I know the story told by Brother Brucey (and I believe confirmed by either Cornette or Dutch on one of their podcasts) was that they brought Terry in as the Executioner under a mask to see what Terry had left and give him a payday. Unfortunately, it became obvious pretty quickly that Terry was toast. So sad and a waste.

Yeah, the story is the mask was to save some face... and if he could stil go maybe have him remove the mask and just wrestle as himself.

Me watching the Bagwell episode: "Man, this is soooo trashy ..."
And not 10 seconds later, Missy Hyatt shows up.

Good episode. It's a damn shame there was no Michael Hayes at all and Jimmy Garvin barely spoke, but his kids got a lot of screen time and that's good enough.
---
Listening to Jim Cornette's podcast, he's doing a season preview with the producer of Dark Side. Producer says Harley Race's ex-wife and son sent a 3 foot by 3 foot box of Harley's stuff to them, to use however they could. Amongst tons of great footage and photos was a fuzzy toilet seat cover for some reason, as well as a VHS labelled "Harley's Greatest Matches". They popped the tape in, excited to see the treasure trove of matches that could be on this tape...instead it was a recording of Fletch Lives.

Very good episode. I thought it went over how big of a legend Gordy was to the people inside the industry and in Japan, because a lot of modern fans may not know that.
I know he’s not beloved over here, but I really like Corny on these shows, because I think he really adds a lot when it comes to history.
It was great to see his kids get to talk a lot too. It would have been great if they could’ve gotten PS on there, but I get why they couldn’t.

Growing up in the 70s in MS I got exposed to Terry at a young age. Became a huge fan.
When I got lucky enough to start gettiing Japanese tapes when I was 13 Gordy's matches were the things I had to see.
So far this is my favorite episode of teh season. Being a Gordy fan it not only covered what needed to be told but had some stuff I had never heard before.
